Here is a quick summary of what I did and where I was on my recent trip:
Day 1
Left Minnesota & arrived in Chicago. Stayed at Harrah's Casino (in Joliet just outside of Chicago).
Day 2
Went to Wrigley Field to watch the Twins lose to the Cubs (it's extremely rare for the Twins to play the Cubs - I think they've only played 6-times). They took 2 of 3 in the series so all is well on that note. Wrigley Field was awesome and made me extremely excited for our new stadium next year to get back to outdoor baseball! Traffic around Wrigley was horrible and it took hours (literally) to get just a few miles after the game.
Day 3
After finally getting out of the "post game traffic" and a random construction zone in the middle of nowhere, arrived in Elizabeth, Indiana at Horseshoe Casino (formerly Caesars Palace) at about 3 AM. This place was actually quite large and I was a big fan of it. They claim to be the largest Riverboat Casino in the world! Their hotel is extremely far from the casino - They even have the "walking escalators" that you see in airports to help you move along.
Day 4 & 5
Arrived in St. Louis, Missouri at Harrah's Casino. I was also a big fan of this casino (which is also a riverboat casino). While in Missouri, checked out the Gateway Arch and took a tour of the Budweiser Factory (I would recommend both to anyone who visits Missouri). If you can only do one or the other, definitely go with the Bud tour!
Day 6
Arrived in Council Bluffs, Iowa at Harrah's Casino (also a riverboat). I had one of the worst experiences of my life here (more to come on that in the near future).
Rest Of Days
Took part in all of the festivities of Grandma's Marathon (Google if you're not familiar).
That about sums it up. I'd go into more detail, but that would ruin the mystery!
