Parallel Universe Bad Beats?

dunno exactly what to call it, but i figured that will do.


Recently i think im giving people too much respect. I see reraises, and i instantly go on the defensive. Just now i have JJ in the BB int he chips game, UTG limps, UTG+1 raises, SB reraises. Im figuring im racing a minimum of 3 overs, maybe im drawing to 1/2 outs. So i fold. Both push, both have AK, i fold the winner. Again.


Is this too cautious, or do many people overvalue certain hands (such as AK or JJ/TT maybe QQ)?

The bad beat is the fact i would have won had i played, so instead of winning 3k, ive lost 20, which is a bad beat as im down 2,980 from where i should be.

people do over play Ak jj/tt.........however here eejit i think you made the right move...

my first tourney in AC i played was a $65 buy in mtt.....around 40 people enter and i was at the final table 6 people lefted and only 5 got paid!!! the tightest person 4 bet i was in mid postion and i had JJ.....well i thought about and folded...... JJ is just a pair preflop.....i think you made the right play with the action you got before you!!! even if they both shared AK....

the amount of time i have playing and what i have read from feed back and first hand information is. How far in to the game,, and Whose playing.. are they strangers or have i played with them before,, In this case i would have done the same even 2Q'ns beat me let alone a K or A now all of this is on paper not on a game... how far off am i ???
