FYI I did a little looking around on the painting and there are actually 16 paintings in the series, by Coolidge. Only 9 of the paintings were actually dogs playing poker the other 7 were of dogs mimicking humans in other activities, such as dogs at baseball games and playing pool.

Interesting enough to find that in 1903 an advertising firm that was located in St. Paul, Minnesota by the name of Brown & Bigelow, hired Coolidge to paint a series of oil paintings for calendars that advertised cigars.

Interesting post Tay, thanks I enjoyed it.
