Default The last poker post im going to write

And its gonna be about complaining/bad beats.

The amount of times ive read on this forum about people "running bad", its unreal.

Yes, getting screwed late on in tourneys is bad. It sucks. Just ask me and NDN, if i could have a cookie for every time its happened to us within the last 2 months is be the size of a small country.

What noone ever seems to realise is the hands they have won before getting sucked out on.

The difference between a 100% favourite and a 75% favourite so huge its unreal.

AK vs 55, you should lose more often than not over the long run.

A7 vs JJ. 28% of the time the A7 will win.

55 vs 22. Often a split pot, but with 2 outs to be hit 5 times, along with runners and other draws, your not hat huge a favourite.

Think how many times youve gotten your chips in good an had them hold up vs a weaker hand to get to a late stage in a tourney. The answer is at least 4 times. so as a 75% favourite each times for example, you due a loss.

Poker needs looking at in the long-run. Short term vairance sucks, you can go all in with AA vs 66 5 times in a tourney, and your due to lose one. ITs just the one time you do you forget the 4 times youve won previously, and only think about the present. I know i do it, and i do get pissed off that i can play so well, get it in as a huge favourite, and lose.

Heres the key - If poker stopped with maths and percentages, you shoudl technically win every game, aside from where u run a monster hand into a monster hand. As you dont often get it in behind if your a decent player. Sometimes you race, as it needs to be done, but aside from that you should mostly be getting it in ahead.

Ive just read several posts from people who are saying they are running bad, variacne, e.t.c

I could post some swings in my games of nearly 30 races lost. THATS running bad. And that was consecutively.

Short term variance sucks, but its the world of odds evening itself out.

Goodnight from me, and good night from the last of my poker advice kinda posts. Noone reads em anyway

I give it 3 days until your next poker post.

I also give it 18 minutes until I complain about another bad beat!

Really? 18 whole minutes? I thought you complained about a bad beat at least as often as you think about sex!

LOL, 19 minutes. very nice. If i had a cookie... lol eej. Where did that saying even come from. If i had a blank for every time i blanked id be blankin blank, wonder who thought of that first... anyways eej you cant give up posting... you're a fountain of knowledge and i wished to be soaked in enlightenment (that sound *** at all, LOL). Seriously though, the information you spit out is gold, for the most part i truly learn something new when i read one of those kinds of posts. I dont think that you could do it being as if you hold it it you might explode, so ill just keep my fingers crossed (that you wont explode that is). I will do you one thing though, i will never complain about another bad beat on this forum, and you have it in writing, soo....a lot of the stuff in your last posts ( this one, broll management one, and the level of poker player thing, i never thought about it like that) is good info so i just hope that youll continue to spare the world some of ur mind juice

My bad run of 6 days is over and I have hit 2 1sts and a 3rd last 3 days.
It's great to vent about bad beats and brag about bad beats and good wins.
Where else are we going to vent and brag?
Like Woohoosue said last month in a post about spending too much time playing poker and on computer. "Our spouse quit listening to our poker rants months ago". You are the only family I got that listens.
Thank you Thabk you Thank you for being here for me.
I promise I will be here for you too, no matter what.
We all have seen every bad beat or bad play hundreds of times.
So, just enjoy the forum for all it's up and down follies.
    I know I do.woof

You want to talk about running bad? Here is a shot from my poker life. I'm down $700 over the last 3 MONTHS. That is running bad. Dropping 30 coin flips is bad, but I've had everything go wrong.

Now, I make this post to prove a point. How many of you knew how bad I was running? How many of you have seen me post a negative hand history about how this donk did this or that?

I've played poker for enough years to know that I'm going to run bad, no matter what I do. I'm also going to run good, which is how my BR built to over $700 playing low limit (25c/50c NL max) cash game and low buy in tournaments (nothing more than $26). Some of your cold runs are a few days, but some can last a few months. You can even have cold runs that run into the year mark. I've learned over the years that fact and come to expect it. I don't complain about it very often, but I go through my swings.

Please, when you post a hand history and ask for advise, please leave the name calling out of the post and let all of us analyze the hand and tell you what we think.
