Mind you as I write this I finished in the money so I'm not complaining because I didn't cash.

After some pushing by eejit I decided to join my first chip buy in game on this forum. After reading the posts on the site and looking at the responses provided by the members of this forum (myself included) I was expecting a very good game. Boy was I wrong.

People on this forum seem to only post questions with hand histories to gain more chips (aka money) than to gain knowledge. I witnessed many plays that went against everything people have posted on here. I saw people calling raises out of position with weak cards. I saw people fishing for draws without pot odds, or implied odds for that matter. I'm not going to call people out by name, but people know what I'm talking about who were there.

The people that provide responses to your questions about "was this a good play" when you push preflop with your A rag or some other weak hand were hoping that you might learn from our hard earned knowledge. To give you all a bit of history on my poker career seeing as most don't know it.

I started playing poker in 2003 after watching the Party Poker Millions televised event. I figured I could figure that game out and make some money at it too. After 5 full years of losing I'm finally starting to make some money. I'm still down over 2k from my learning stage. When I started playing poker there were not that many sites that offered to help you learn the game. If you did find one, there were few member on that forum that were willing to help or provide advise, most just blasted you for being a "stupid donk." All of my knowledge was gained through real life experience sitting at a poker table, either live or online.

I had the hope that the replies I was providing was helping players gain some knowledge on how to play poker without costing them bunches of money like it did me. I guess that hope was misplaced. My hope from this point forward is that people actually read the advise posted by others and try to learn from it. No one here is going to lead you down a road to bad plays.
