outplayed by a donkey...twice????

OK so i wasn't really outplayed by a donkey....but it almost feels like it. So i was at my local freeroll at the local bar and running pretty well...making great reads good betting patterns and so on.

Until i run into this lady i call my arch nemisis haha.. her name is trudy and she is the defonition of a donkey at the poker table. She plays ATC preflop.

For example shes descent stacks an this really well versed player that plays for ****s and giggles too is also well stacked...he plays prem,iums but can switch it up. So the blinds at 500and 1k he makes it 4k to go which is about 1/3 of both thier stacks. and she calls with 89 offsuit out of position. and she flop 992....shes just a luckbox for lack of a better word

Anyways these are the 2 hands she has against me

I had 79 suited and 3 bet late in the freeroll and she comes along flop falls 678 and i shove all in b/c from playing with her my read was high card weak cards and i hoped it wasn't an 8.....so she SNAP CALLS me and i am like danm did she flop it....no she flops over q 5 off....and riveres the q....very terrible call preflop and postflop

So last night i am in sb everyone folds to her on button she comes along and the bb checks...i calls too....flop 23 7 checks around turn 8 checks around rvier 10 i lead out for a pot bet of 600 BB folds and i put her on hitting nothing...i had bet with q high and she SNAP CALLS me with king 6 off...

Man i just hate when i get outplayed by donkeys.....if you call that outplayed

Simple advice for hand 1, dont reriase with 79suited preflop. As 3betting is reraising.

Unless you mean you went to 3x the BB. In which case why?

My advise is that you ignore anything done or not done in bar league freerolls. Most players there talk a big game but don't play poker for money AT ALL. I've played in way to many bar freerolls to count and have seen all sorts of bad beats. I've had AK and had 2/7 off raise into me and bet to the river with nothing. I've seen AA limp, flop 2 more A's and just check call. When asked why the player didn't realize the strength of quads.

Just because a player is there all the time doesn't mean they know what they are doing. When I play in those games I use it as a chance to try to play a looser game and see how it works. I've found that the results are mixed at best. I've done good playing tight or loose and I've lost quick playing tight or loose. There is way too much variance in the game, based partly on the lack of a quality shuffle for the deck. Some players shuffle it 3 times, some do it 6, some wash the deck and shuffle 3 times. This allows the deck to start to get separated into sections and takes away some of the randomness of the deck and the odds.

The other use I've found for bar game freerolls is to practice your live reading skills. You can work to pick up tells and learn to apply them to a live game at your local casino.

Don't let the silly beats you take in those games discourage you from playing correct poker all the time.

haha yes i know and the thing is i totaly can read these ppl live......its just i make a play at then where they should fold 2-3 pair or a high or king high and they are still calling lol....funny to watch ppl reshove 99 when they have a raise and a reshove infront of them tho haha...of corse i was the reshove with kings and they spike their 9 on the river
