I am an active member in the PPA and have sent a few letter over the past couple months when texas had a bill to legalize land based poker clubs, but unfortunately the bill got pushed under the table and they wanted to do other stuff this year:( This is a great site for all the poker news concerning legal matters involving poker. Personally i dont think anyone should use a credit card to put up gambling money. The prepaid ones work just fine and keep you at a set limit, and if folks do have a gambling problem then maybe they just need to take up so other mind inticing hobby, like maybe soduki or chess, somethjing, but dont ruin it for everyne else.
The PPA in my opinion has done ntohing yet. Just shouting at people who can turn the other cheek.
Ntohing will change the governments minds until they make mroe money from it than they do now.
IMO expect sites to have to keep track of your win/loss ratio, and send info to the US government each tax year and then a statement from the IRS.
OR - Move to the UK
its not even about credit cards and all that it is about taxing it. the US couldnt do it because all servers are based off shore. how are u gonna go after someone that is not in there jurisdiction. look at the 2 guys from neteller or was it paradise. they were the owners and they got busted coming to the US on there way to there vacation homes in malibu. well ill tell u this when the neteller thing all hapopened i lost alot on there. i didnt ge tpaid and when they said they would release funds my funds mysteriously disappeared. same with the cash i had on paradise. they say its a criminal enterprise. PPA i agree with eejit. they havent done much,. iknow my letters never made it to my congressmans desk. that **** went out with yesterdays trash. thats y i gave up. i will leave it up to barkey frank. if he cant do it then we are all still gonna have to play underground like we do now. i think it will pass because of all the lawsuits going on. plus the case in south carolina where the guy and his buddies got busted for a house game. thats when mike sexton testified that it was a game of skill and not chance so the judge thru out the case and let the guy go. what a waste of time. thats start an so is minnesotas even thought that didnt do much. lol to bad ndn. its been a long time coming.
Neteller never gave you your money?
Anyone else not get theirs yet? (I thought all us players have been paid)
I can check for ya
wow busted for a home game... I presume, because you didnt say, that there was nothing else illegal going on cept the poker, but the fact that the police felt compelled to bust up a home game is BS. That kind of interference with the lives of ordinary citizens is ridiculous, wonder what kind of judge would grant the warrant for that search...
