    Default new virus warning

this is an email i recieved from a reliable friend:

The newest virus circulating is the UPS/Fed Ex Delivery Failure.

IF You receive an email from UPS/Fed Ex Service along with a packet
number.. It will say that they were unable to deliver a package sent to
you on such-and-such a date. It then asks you to print out the invoice
copy attached. DON'T TRY TO PRINT THIS. IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS! Pass this
warning on to all your PC operators at work and home. This virus has
caused Millions of dollars in damage in the past few days.

I just checked this out with Snopes and it's real.

Snopes confirms that it is real.

Thanks for the warning. Its good to check snopes before posting because a lot of these are also fake and not even worth mentioning

thanks for the info. I get alot of packages from fedex so is it obvious the difference between the real fedex and the fake e-mail? I think im just gonna go directly to the fedex website now

there are a bunch of sick ppl out there who like nothind btter than to design a virus that will cause as much damage as possible ;it probably excites them or something.guess they go bragging to their buddies "i killed thousands of pcs with my new worm "etc.one good idea to get rid of viruses and other malware is to restart your computer in "safe" mode and run your anti virus scan this usua;lly fixes many problems

Thanks for the info but I have a question. I have AVG and sometimes when I scan, I get warnings/threats that have not been removed. If I run AVG in safe mode, will this delete the remaining warnings/threats?

I'm a little confused as to how the program even works haha. Please help me!
