Default What would you do if you won $10 million?

I would put it all in a safe investment @ 4.50% interest and
live high on the hog with my $450,000 a year. I would travel and play golf
every other day. I would pamper my family and my self.
When I die, I would still have $10 million left or more to give to my kids.

The problem with this plan is that 450k probably wont go very far 30 years from now. I would use it similarly though. I would pay off my student loans, buy a house and car, then set myself up for life in a similar manner. I would invest it a little more agressively than you though-I'm young and can wait out a bad stock market. I would set up a portfolio that's 60% bonds, 25% stocks and 15% T-bills and Bank CD's, and manage it the same way colleges manage endowments-Use most of the intrest to fund my family and take a small share and reinvest it.

I would find the best financial planner i can get and come up with alot of high interest savings portfolio's as well. I would probably set-up most of my nessitities at first such as house car college funds then settle down. Once you hit the big one like this why go and give it all back gambling some more? Only if your rich maybe but no i wouldnt do any thing different as far as my game is now. I would probably even take a long vacation from my low stakes poker game lol.

    No Lie....God's honest truth...

If I won ten million dollars, after taxes, I would donate half to Shriner's Hospitals for Children. They saved my nephew's life after he was burned on over 80% of his body. They are a great group of people with hospitals all over the world. I think after my donation, I could have a nice life on the rest. Good Luck All!!!!! I'm playing power ball tonight!!!

Buy house, car, sort out my family a bit (pay of Dads mortgage, and Mums mortgage and shop lease) Set up 3 trust fund ISA's for my 2 x half brothers and half sister.

Go on a tour of the USA ending up in Vegas for some WSOP action, where id stake all my favourite NDNErs in event #54.

In all reality I would probably die of a freakin' heart attack! But if the shock didn't kill me... I would pay everything off and find the best way to invest for my kids' future. After that I have no idea, there are too many things I would like to do to even know where I would start.

The lottery is what I call a poor man's dream. Dreams are a beautiful thing, without them you have nothing. As Casey Casem always said, "Keep your feet on the ground and reach for the stars".

My husband and I would def be comfortable, and so would my mommy and daddy, and my girls. I'd go visit eejit in the UK. I would invest in properties to rent out as many as I could. I think that there is a lot of money in real estate. If of coarse I did not have to pay for my casket and burial because I fell over dead from all of the excitement. The dying thing would prob happen first though, as I am an extremely unlucky person and it is obviously my destiny to be poor. Damn the luck anyways!

"I am an extremely unlucky person"

    NEVER SAY THAT AGAIN

The more you reinforce that belief, the more it will continue to be true.
Positive visualization will overcome your dark cloud. Some people have to work harder at it than others, but it does work. A good analogy is a golfer
readys himself for his next shot. If he is thinking " boy, this is a tough hole and I double bogeyed this hole yesterday". The likelihood of him hitting a poor shot is greater. If he visualized hitting a good shot and had conjured
up a memory of him playing this hole well, he would hit a good shot.
There is so much evidence now to prove this and more people are understanding that we have the ablility to create our own success and failures by the way we think.
    Think Positive

If I were to win 10 million, I would probably put about a million on my players only account, a million on fulltilt, a million on pokerstars, a million on carbon, and then I would use the rest to start a forum that paid its members to post things. Totally original I know. Oh, and I'd probably buy a few dogs or something. Seriously though, I'd keep it all and go on a vacation for the rest of my life.

Thirdly - You make me laugh. Alot!

There is a difference between hittin a golf ball and winning lottery, as one of them is skill dependant.

    Not 1 snort from me.

Golf is easy sport when you drive the ball effortlessly like me.

    NO FEAR

    I average 6 pars a side.

I have shot 5 under before in 9 holes
    and 1 under after 18.

The very FIRST thing I would do if I won 10 million dollars is MOVE... lol, change my phone number, change my address, maybe my name (LOL i don't think i'd change my name) and avoid all the FRIENDS and FAMILY (I've never known) who would start calling me or coming by and asking to borrow money.

Then I would phone my parents and tell them their new address of the house I just bought them and to check their bank to make sure the money I sent them is there. I then would send my 2 brothers some money and probably shop, shop, shop furnishing my new home and looking at a new car and truck to buy. And in spite of my son's dad, I would buy a Land Cruiser, take a picture of me in it and email it to him to make his day (the Land Cruiser is his fave vehicle) and then a couple days later I'd email him again to tell him I gave it away because i don't like the Land Cruiser.

With the left over money I would invest, make a few donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the SPCA (i love animals), and other organizations I can't think of now.... and then buy a million dollar life insurance policy on myself with my son as the beneficiary because his dad will be looking for me to kill me.... lol

oh and of course play in the WSOP with eejit

If I ever even made it that far. Pay my house, buy my new car , go to school and live on retirement and still play in the freerolls.
