Default Did I play this right?

I will ask people who have put much more time into playing and learning this game then I have or probably ever will... Its the 6th hand of a live rebuy, I am not gonna rebuy. I get 8s 10s and limp in 50$ BB with 5 others. Flop comes Jd, 7s, 9s. 3 people check in front of me I make it 350$. Everyone fold but One guy who makes it 700$. I go All-in, He thinks and calls within 20 secs. Guy has Jh, 8c. Board pairs 9's on the turn and a 2s comes on the river... I knew I was drawing but also figured I was 60% or more. Didnt have any Idea what the guy had since it was the 6th hand of the tourney.... You think I made the right move or should I have just called and seen if the board paired?... or folded right there?

The guy Had Jd, 9h... sorry... and I just did the calculation on cardplayer... Ya I got screwed. Knew it was a pretty good drawing hand, didnt figure it was 86% to win... That sucks

sorry i been having internet problems and I guess I am a little on tilt right now. My head is spinning and I want to throw this computer out the window... Im gonna go lay down. My question was basically is it a advised play to take a open ended straight flush draw to the river when the other person has 2 pair?

in a tourney, im prob not letting that go, only other move is to wait till someone bets and shove, but it's very hard to get away from double draws like that...one piece of advice to give you is, why play a rebuy if you dont plan on rebuying/or adding on...i never plan on rebuying, but if there are addons at the first break, i always do this because its just more firepower that you didn't have before.

You'll never get away from a draw like that in a hold'em tornament, so don't sweat it. 3 points I'd like to make though
    1. Avoid playing rebuys with 1 bullet-It puts you at a massive disadvantage
    2. Did someone limp-in in front of you, or did you open-limp? Raising is so much better if you're the first in the pot
    3. If you think someone else will lead, maybe consider check-raising the flop? Leading is ok too, but always be careful in unraised pots.

Dont play rebuy tourneys if you wont rebuy.

You need to mention chip stacks, so we know how deep you are.

And id have called, you have 6 definate outs, and 7 others. Also runner runner trip outs. 15 outs is a definate call.

Ok thanks... I counted 15 outs and then did the whole, 4 x outs, 2 x outs thing... 60% so I went for it. I know the rebuy puts me at a disadvantage but its really the only tournament, timewise that I can play weekly. I play in a 40$ buy-in freeze out once in a while on mons and tues at 1pm, but I have to pick my daughter up from school at 335 most days... The rebuy starts at 10am...

It was the 6th hand of the tournament and me and the other guy had pretty much the staring chips, 3k... There were 5 limpers into the flop... 2 acting behind me. The guy was behind me. I was the initial raiser after the flop, the pot was 250... I raised to 350... he raised to 700... I went all in

what amount of outs would you guys consider a large amount of outs?.. 12? I think that pretty much makes it a coin flip after the flop... I understand the odds concept of hitting your hand related to what you are getting on your money 2:1, 3:1 kind of stuff... I was just wondering if there is a number of odds you consider worth "going for it most the time"

I learned a long time ago not to play in any rebuy games if you can help it. People do the stuipest things in a rebuy. And as for the hand you did the right thing you just got a bad break an the turn. I have seen alot of pro's do the same thing. And most of them said they would do it again. Sometimes yoy get lucky sometimes you don't. Thats why they call it gambling. Also if you plan to play in a rebuy and not you are not going to make a rebuy I say don't play, because their will always be someone to put you all-in with nothing and hit because they are willing to rebuy into the tourney. Thats just my opinion.

Ya I think I keep playing this one because of the time its at... also I won the first one I played in without rebuying w/only freeroll online expierience... and placed in 2 or 3 that same month. Only adding on once. That was bout 6 months ago.

Since then nothing. The first month I was up like 1500. Now I have given more then half of that back. But I see it as, Im playing for free till I give it all back... I get to learn the game for free.

Usually I will take enuff for a add-on... its two 2,000 rebuys under 1,000 or one 2,000 rebuy under 2,000... with a 1500 add on at the break. Everytime I placed in the money I had atleast 8,000$ by the break (end of rebuy period) by then the blinds are at 800/400.

But during the rebuy period I pretty much only play pocket pairs, or A,J and above or K,Q or above... Unless I can get into a multiway pot with suited connectors or one gappers. And I never bluff during the rebuy period. I usually gauge my betting on the other persons stack... After the rebuy period I just try to stay out of confrontations with big stacks.

The one time I won during the rebuy period I got into a 4 way all-in with suited A,Q and won. Then got into a 3 or 4 way all in with poket jacks and won... After the rebuy period I hit like 5 pocket pair mid sets on people with top pair... It was crazy.

i will have to agree with everyone and not play rebuy tourneys if you not going to rebuy...... in rebuy tourneys you have to think people will push with two pair and etc. it is a aggressive tourney...

when i play rebuy tourneys i play very tight and only the top ten hands......(read phil H book for the top ten hands) anyways after the rebuy period you play and let your skill show b/c people are still in that mood of aggressive style of play......

i have only won a few rebuy tounreys.....its tough...

now about your hand.........if you had check on the flop and let him bet the 350 you might have called and saw the pair on the turn and maybe could of folded on the turn b/c you check again and he shoves........

or you take that race with two pair....but what about if he was a good player and pushed with a set!!!!! `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````````````````````````````````````` `````````````````
