Ingredients:
4 large potatoes, quartered and peeled
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1 pound lean ground beef
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup Sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
Salt and Pepper to taste
Preparation:*
1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. Boil potatoes in a large pot of lightly salted water about 15 minutes until tender but still firm. Drain and mash, and season with salt and pepper to taste, then set aside.
3. Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Add the chopped onion and saute until the onion is translucent. Add ground beef and Worcestershire sauce, and cook until meat is browned. Drain off the grease. Simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Evenly spread ground beef on the bottom of a 2 quart casserole dish. Cover with mashed potatoes, and then bake in preheated oven until golden brown, or about 20 minutes.
5. Remove casserole dish from oven and sprinkle on cheddar cheese, letting it melt naturally. Serve and enjoy!
