Anyone make deposits with a prepaid gift card? I have discover card so cant make any deposits there... I have a visa debit card, but it was declined (Bank of America)... Is there another option where I dont have to pay a crap load of fees inorder to deposit? I thought about getting a visa gift card and trying it, but I read somewhere that FTP only allows you to withdraw funds the same way you deposited them. So I dont know if this would work going the gift card route?

how funny is this. i am actually making a deposit right now to carbon using a prepaid visa gift card. if u can get one get a gift card mall visa. i never have problems with them. all u have to do is wait like a hour till they get notification that u purchased it then for online purchases u have to verify ur info. so u then go to www.giftcardmall.com/visagift and enter the card info and sign up. its easy. waiting a hour might be a pain but its worth it. try it out. u can get prepaid up to $200. lemme know what u think.

oh as for the FTP problem im not sure but they do have reloadable ones. dont know if that helps but check it out.

Thanks... I will try it on full tilt and if it dont work I will do carbon or maybe try Players Only... what are the fees with the card? I only want to deposit like 50$ or 100$ bucks and if the fees are too high its almost not woth it... Im guessing Carbon cashes you out with check?... or direct deposit?

as for fees u pay a one time fee when u prchase the card of 4.95. as for depositing on say carbon there is no transaction fee. so just 4.95. and carbon cashes out checks to US players. i have had no problem with cashing out its just getting to that point.

Using prepaid cards for FTP:

yes you can use them but you have to make sure it is a international one...
b/c if it is just domestic use, you will not be able to deposit... atleast on fulltilt

Netspend all access is the one i use for ftp. and you can buy the reloadable one of netspend too....

yes netspend is good. i use it too. there are many options i am just giving one. i use it more often so thats y i say it. i would say ur chips here and do a exchange with ndn to get money on ft.

Thanks. I will look into the net spend. Unfortunatly I wont be able to deposit anything til my internet starts working right again. I usually connect using a unsecure network in my apartment complex that has a very strong signal, but for the last few days I havnt been able to connect. It keeps saying connected but local access only. It has done this before a couple times, and just started working out of nowhere again. So I figure its something on the router side...

I have been connecting using another network with a poor quality signal that goes in and out. I can usually get a static fair signal if I place my laptop in the window and sit on my bed, but thats g.d. annoying and I cant play poker like that. I get dissconnected every 10 mins and I get pissed.

So until the other network comes back or I go buy a cantenna or something for the other network signal. Im playing a waiting game. Fortunatly I cant play til next tuesday anyways cuz I work til then. I will probably play a live rebuy at 10am that day then come home and try to solve this internet issue.

So bought a visa Gift Card at Walgreens... VISA gift card (Gift 2 go)... Made a 25 dollar deposit. The card fee was like 3.50$.

Also cashed in 10$ worth of chips and won my fist SNG at full tilt 2night. Won 17$...

and I was chip leader for the 1st half of a 180 player SNG at the same time but kind of lost track when I made the final table in the other one...

Sucks could have won 97$ for first in that one. I got knocked out at 45th place and the chip leader at that point had 1k less then I had at my peak...

I blew it, But hey got 47$ in my account to try some more, No more multi-tableing 4 a while I think, Also I think I need to work on playing with a big stack, I feel way more comfortable playing with a short stack...

That was only like the 5th non-freeroll (full tilt poker points) SNG I have played in, I usually just play those 180 player freerolls and win entry into the next tourney then withdraw the 100 points of the buy-in, Then play in the 20 FTP 180 player touneys... Always got sucked out of those.

Well anyways you will see me playing in a few hours. I dont work tomorrow. I got my eye on those 8.70$ 18min 81max sats to the main event shootout. If u can win one of those, u get a 216$ seat in one of the 18min 81max main event shootouts. Then if you win one of those a 12,000$ seat in the (Main Event Winners)... I dont know if you can do this but I would be looking to withdraw from the Main Event and take the 12,000$ buy-in fee.

That's the first I've heard of being able to deposit not using echecks.

I'm gonna go check it out pretty soon.

To further answer and try to be accurate I know this information is true and has helped me so I pass it along to you also.


Depositing with Gift Cards or Pre Paid Debit Cards
.
There are two different kinds of pre paid cards, gift cards and debit cards. If the information on the back of the packaging the card comes in says: Not for gaming or gambling or it does not say for International purchases IT WILL NOT WORK. You can also email support before buying a card and they might be able to tell you if it will work.

Gift Cards
You can only use Visa or MasterCard gift cards on FTP and Stars. A gift card is a card that you can buy and use just like a Visa or MasterCard. There is a one time fee when purchasing it, usually $4.95 for a $50 card. They are not reloadable. There are usually no other fees with these cards. If you buy one for $50 you can use all $50 of it. Depending on where you purchase the card it may take up to 24 hrs for funds to be available, although it has never taken more than an hour for me, check the card’s balance online to know for sure.

Before you can use a gift card to deposit you ABSOLUTELY MUST go to the card’s website and register the gift card to you. All you have to do is log on and give them your name, address and zip code. If you don’t do this when the poker site tries to verify that the card is yours it will be declined. Once you do that wait about 30 minutes and your deposit should work.

Full Tilt: only allows a total of 4 deposits using gift cards, 2 using a Visa Gift Card and 2 using a MasterCard Gift Card. I personally have never seen a MasterCard one so just keep in mind you will be very limited in your deposit ability with these on FTP. I was also told by a representative at FTP that sometimes gift cards lock their system up so keep trying for up to 24 hrs.
Poker Stars: the only restrictions on using a gift card at Stars are the daily restrictions that apply to using any credit card. HOWEVER, according to the deposit department at Stars the only prepaid gift cards that are working on their site are the All Access prepaid cards. You can go to (www.allaccessgift.com) to find a location that sells them near you.

Prepaid Debit Cards
A prepaid debit card is a reloadable card. There is a fee to purchase the card, usually $9. 95 and you can add money to the card when you purchase it. Anytime you add money to the card after that there is a fee, usually $4.95. There is a fee usually $1 every time you use this card, unless you enroll in one of the card’s plans. So if you are planning on using this card to deposit $50 you need to have at least $51 available on it.
Before you use this card you ABSOLUTELY MUST register the card to yourself. You will have to go online to card’s website and enter your name, address, and zip code. Once you have done this wait about 30 minutes and then your deposit should work. After you fill out your personal info on the internet they will also send you a new card with your name on it and then once you activate it the old one will no longer work to deposit, you will have to use the new one.

Wow. Then I don't know. What color was the card? And you deposited on pokerstars? This is very interesting to me because I really want to deposit on pokerstars just not using my bank account.
