Default NLH Cash tables for dummies...

ok so i have compiled a "to do" list while sitting at a cash table, playing virtually any limits... so here goes, *please* all members feel free to add to this list if i forgot any valuable information...

    1. Look for the amount of money total for you to win before sitting in at the cash game...(you dont want to sit in with 20 bucks and have everybody there tripled in chips, thats how you lose your money to worse players) I usually look for a table that has atleast 4 times my buy in to win with only one player bigger stacked than me.

2.Set a time limit or a max cash out limit...i usually do 1 hour and double-triple my buy in, when either of these are reached, i stand up and leave...

3.Decide based on how your table is playing, how you plan on adjusting your play. This is pretty simple, if your table is playing pr tight, you play aggressive, BE SMART, but aggressive. If your table is playing loose, play tight, and play LONG BALL, big preflop raises, and big bets on the flop. If your table has some of both play, decide if this is even the table for you, because it puts more pressure on you to change gears constantly. Keep that in mind.

4.Figure out based on your tables normal betting patterns, what your image pattern is going to be, mine is usually a 3-4 bet preflop depending on my position, and if im reraising, usually 3x the bet regardless of my situation in the hand and what cards im holding...

5.DON'T SLOW PLAY...unless ofcourse you flop a full house or the nut straight or flush...then give some free cards...slow playing your decent hands like trips or 2 pair, generally only gets you 2 things...a checked down pot, with barely any money in it, and a lost pot on the river...

6.Find the weak players at your table and attack...go after the players with like 1/2 of your stack and bully them, unless they are solid players, then adjust accordingly.

7.Take notes on as many players as possible based on their hands they show down.

8.Every hand your NOT in, you should still be in mentally. Play the "guessing" game...try to put one or all of your opponents on hands or a range of hands, consider it practice for when you are in a hand with these people.

9.If your are not there emotionally, walk away...if you hit a terrible beat and your fuming and you cant stop thinking about it, stand up from the table and walk away limping with your money you have left...

NEVER set a cash-out limit. When you double or tripile your buy-in, that's when things are going well. When you are winning, people see you as a winner. When people see you like that, they respect you. This lets you win more. It's kind of a perpetual cycle. Quit when you said you would stop. Quit when the table seems unfavorable. Quit after taking a bad beat that you won't be able to recover from. Quit after you've lost a little after winning a lot. But don't quit while you are winning, that's the best time to play poker.

I agree with Klink. Never quit when you are winning. The only time I quit was when the table became unfavorable to me or I hit a really big bad beat. I never set a double or triple up limit. If I hit that mark in a few hands, I miss out on taking more from my opponents and making a bigger profit.

There is plenty of respect given in online games, if you deserve it. I've dumped AK because I knew the raiser had either AA or KK because of the amount of his raise. I folded and another fool called. At the showdown the raiser I folded to had AA and I was drawing to really long odds of winning.

i always take profit because you will get slaughtered if you stay with a lot of money. two things will happen...

    1. you will get donk out by players that buy in for the table min. and shove preflop with nothing.

    2. someone else will catch your chip stack and tangle with you and get donk out by him or make one mistake against him.

deff. take profit its the best way to build your bankroll quick....

Buy a hud tracker if u can. That is the number ONE way of maximizing profit, no matter what you try and say about it, or if you think its "reading" or something, getting one of these (about $40) will track every single players VPIP, ROI, flops, BB's, everything. Undenyable fact knowing how the play exactly will earn you money.

    Get it!
