    Default What would u do

So this hand came up in the 35 dollar tourny i was talking about all last week

so the starting stack was 650 chips with the blinds starting at 5-10...aka a pretty turbo tourny.....so at the 1st break i had a good stack of about 1200...not bad for the 1st break

but the thing was everyone at my table was smallballing(aka min raising and min betting only)...i was a little thrown off by this but had seemed to be managing
the thing about it was was that it wasn't just a few players at my table it was EVERYONE

so we get back from break and the blinds are not 25-50 and again a guy small balls and only raises to 100....i look down at AK suited and descide to shove and take down the pot of about 250 right there.....well the guy who min raised wakes up with KK and takes most of my stack

i feel i played this hand wrong but i guess i wasn't used to EVERYONE smallballing at a table
what would you have done in my situation???
andwhat do you do when everyone is smallballing at a table???

anyways i went on to shove the next hand when i floped an open ended draw with my 10,j and a guy calls me with k 10 no pair just a gut shot draw and wins with king high....what a GREAT call....NOT haha

well gl on the felt everyone

You need to look at the raises based on two different factors, raise amount and stack size. If the blinds are 25/50 and I have 500 chips (only 10 bb's), a min raise isn't a sign of weakness. You have to adapt your raises to the stack size you have. Starting with 650 (or only 65 bb's) instaed of 1500 (150 bb's) is a HUGE difference. I think you push with AK against a min raise, based on stack sizes, wasn't a great play. I think in the future, if you play that tournament again, I would consider a min raise to be equal to a 3-4 times the bb raise. Another reason for the small raises is to keep the pot size more manageable. I would say you played pretty well, with the exception of the AK hand.
