Do you play you pocket pairs all similar???

LIke your AA KK and QQ do you play similarly

then your JJ !010 99 and the same
And then everything under88 the same
b/c i feel i always find myself playing all these hands similarly....should i change up my play and raise all pps??

never raise on your hand strength, raise by your position at the table, and raise based on how your opponents react to your raise

yeah i agree with kingsinthahole but also i see who i am playing and how they are playing. usually with a lower pair i just call in hopes of flopping trips. it just depends

I sometimes find myself doing the same thing. There are two sides to this act, one that can help you and one that can hurt you. When I play a cash game, I pick a set amount to raise, be it 3 or 4 times the bb. I will open raise that amount with any hand I want to play. This helps me disguise my hand strength, but as the session wears on, people start to make calls with weaker hands. This goes to the one that helps and one that hurts. If you continually raise the same amount with the same hand types people will start to narrow down your likely hands, based on note taking and histories. That is why I do what I do. If you do this, you need to be mindful that later in a session you can expect weaker cards to call, so you need to be good at reading actions and opponent strength. Mind you I don't raise with any pocket pair lower than TT, instead I just call and hope to set and rake a HUGE pot.

I limp with all my pocket pairs utg + 1 because its not a normal poker play and what i mean by that is everyone raises with a high pocket pairs. I like doing this because i lost three huge pots to someone who did this to me.

1st one at a cash table flopped top pair with top kicker and bet it every street and i also had position. well he called everything then flipped over AA and i had a king.

2nd and 3rd i was in a tourney and went broke and lost in the tourney.


so i noticed the potentially to win a huge pot by limping with a high pocket pair but on the down side is you might be put in a tough situation and you have to be patience as well.

Never raise on your hand strength, raise by your position at the table, and raise based on how your opponents reacts to your raise. I have to agree with this. Always play your hand strengh. I know it is hard to do on-line, but try to do it as much as you can so when you play live you will not get into a rutt.
