NDN has come up with the idea of getting a few NDNers in a big buy-in MTT tonight! If anyone is interested in joining in, post your username, and there may be a prize to the one that finishes the highest.

Okay everyone, more details.

NDN is wanting to get more money for us members, so he has planned a way for us to make it ourselves. He is going to put up a set pool (undetermined as of yet) to be used each week by a set 10 players (the current top 10). Each week, these players will all get into a mid-to-large buyin game of NDN's choice. Any winnings will be split 50/50, half going to the winning player, half going to the pool! As the pool grows, there will be many more bonuses handed out, possibly more players given access to this pool, and more!

We are going to give a kick-off try tonight if enough of the 10 respond. 10:30pm EDT.

Hmmm... To touch up on Borgo's post....

In case you didn't fully understand the concept - I'll add some more information.

I'd like to try something that I haven't done before - And I am not sure anyone really has.

I will create a "Buy-in funds pool" valued at $xxxxxxxxx. The current top ten NDNPT players will have access to this funds pool to play a multi table tournament of my choice (or one we choose to play). We will all play in each specific event together. Since this will never cost any of the players their own money - It would be expect that you split the winnings 50/50. You keep half of any winnings - And give back half of the winnings to be added back to the "Buy-in funds pool." We will continue playing for a while to see how we do. Should the "Buy-in funds pool" become large - We would then distribute an amount evenly amongst the players.

Please don't get the idea that I am trying to set up a collusion fest! Collusion will not be tolerated and if found colluding you will be removed from the ten active players. If we have our ten best players in 1-game there should not be a need to collude.

I think this will be successful for a two reasons.
1. We have our ten best players in a single event with larger $ up for grabs.
2. The fact that we are part of a 10-person team should encourage you to play better to make the others proud and in a way to SHOW OFF! Not to mention keeping this concept going and hopefully our funds growing.

There are a few twists to this that will be added when final details are ready.

Here are some of them...
We would start with the top 10 NDNPT players. There may also be a couple of alternates in case someone can't play a specific game.

Those 10 players would be "scored" on criteria to see if we need to replace the "weakest link."

If this idea works - We could then allow room for more players to join. We would arrange %'s of the "Funds Pool" and if we added more players it would be like a stock situation where your % splits.

There are many many more things that go with this - they'll be posted soon enough!

If at any time a poker room determines that this is not acceptable (they shouldn't - it's simply like playing a game with some friends in it) we will terminate the idea.

Tonight will just be a practice game to see how things go. Win or lose tonight I'd still like to try this idea of a certain period of time. Obviously I wouldn't expect us to win right away (could happen) so I would make the initial pool big enough to keep us going for a while.

Having just played the tourney (and losing just shy of the money), I have to say this was a fun/good idea. I like playing in these bigger tourneys with a few people I "know", makes it a lot more fun. In fact right now, I'm still watching to see if cobrajc pulls it out and gives us one guy in the money...

Anyway, thanks NDN, sorry I couldn't pull through, my last chance was my A,8 vs 6,4 but I came up with the short end of the deal...

Congrats to cobrajc, our only money finisher. I dont expect to see only 1 finisher in teh money EVER again. This was my 7th game of the day, so I know I was pokered out, and I know others like Main also had a good few. Lets give a better next time guys!

Not a problem Scole! I don't know about everyone else - But I've been up for 30+ hours and played quite a few games tonight. I just didn't have the energy to play very good poker.

I still like this idea and will get something more official set up soon!

First, I would like to thank NDN for this great idea. Secondly, I would like to thank all of the players for their support. I am sorry that I did not do better, but like everyone else, I had been playing all day too. I am sure that with the caliber of players on our poker tour, that we can do better with a little "pre-warning" - so that we can get some rest LOL. Thanks again to NDN for this great idea. I truly enjoyed participating.
