Its the most famous horse race in the world (except maybe the Kentucky Derby) and its on today.
Ive done some research, and basically ive found the following tips for you.
Tip 1 - courtesy of my best friends brothers wife, who works in a stables for a champion jockey, and she knows her stuff.
Bet "State of Play" to win. Current odds 14/1 - Means if you beat $1, you will recieve $15 back. Good horse, good staying power, got the legs to make it round the near 5 mile course. Also god a great jockey.
Tip 2 - courtesy of every i know with a bet on this race.
Bet on "My Will" to win. Best jump jockey around on this. Awesome horse. Techincally it should win. But as its the national, you never know. Current price 8/1.
My tips - I would pick 4 horses, and do a tricast. Basically its getting 3 of them in the top 3 in any order. A $1 tricast costs you $11 i think. This covers all 11 possible 1/2/3 finishes from your 4 horses. Getting one of these right will earn your LOADS of money. And i mean loads. Ill do an example!
Pick 1 - "My Will" odds = 8/1
Pick 2 - "State of Play" odds = 12/1
Pick 3 - "Darkness" odds = 16/1
Pick 4 - "Southern Vic" odds - 25/1
Say for example you pick those 4, and the top 3 horses come in. Its normally worked out as.....
$1 on winner, at 8/1 this rolls on to be $9.
$9 on 2nd, at 12/1, this rolls on to be $117.
$117 on 3rd, at 16/1 this rolls on to be HUGE!!!! $1989.
$1989!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take off taxes and stuff, and various random deductions that are possible. Its still $1800.
FYI those are my 4 picks and i am doing them!
Its obv isnt guaranteed to happen, but for that kind of return for 11 x $1 bets, im all over it
