Default Calling the clock in a live tournament.

This is from another thread my post after will be my question.
My worst experience was when I first went to New York to play in my first huge tournament. I had saved up for months to get this buy in it was a 5k buy in for the HPT (Heartland Poker Tour) which is a poker tour around the upper midwest states.
Anyways I sit down I had just turned 18 and sit down to a table full of old guys who just look at me then start talking about damn internet players and what not, but to me its no big deal because I know I can hang with ANYBODY. no matter what their age or level of experience.
Day 1 went great, never got below my starting chip stack, never got my chips in bad and was sitting at 20k above chip average. I went to my hotel room and was feeling good. No I was feeling GREAT.
Then day 2 started. Day 2 went as bad as it could. Every all in I was behind every pot I bluffed at my bluff got picked off and finally i just said screw it im done trying to play this game and sat back.
At the end of day 3 I was 84th in chips and top 72 got paid. So I knew i had some work to do anyway I know every detail of this hand still because I still remember it like it was yesterday.
Anyways, blinds were at 2k/4k with my stack sitting at 220k so almost 50BBs which is great. I only have one guy who is above me in chips but he is to my right. Anyways he is the Button-1 and I am the button. I picked up AcJc folded around to villian on my right he raises to 12k. Standard raise
I flat call and SB and BB both fold. Flop comes As Kc 2c.
I almost jump out of my skin. Top pair great kicker and nut flush draw.
Villian bets 48k. Kinda strange bet seeing as how the pot is only 30k. I take my time. Actually i take so much time I got the clock called on me and raise to 150k. He knows im going to the felt with this. thats almost all of my stack. He flat calls. LMFAO. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????
Anyways the turn is a Jd. Now that just uncounters AQ. He checks.? I push in for the rest which is consequently only like 60-some thousand. NOW HE takes so much time that someone calls the clock on him. (I am going to make another thread about calling the clock on ppl BTW)
Anyways after over 5 minutes. He calls. This is now over a 450k pot easily the biggest pot of the tournament.
I turn over my two pair and nut flush draw. He turns over JJ. Ahhhhhhhhh. One outter.
    River is the 2h.
    Im out in 126th place.
    Still hurts.

Easy question, how long is it before you can call the clock and it is not considered rude?

my question is ..Is taking time a startegy to give others an impression of a strong or weak hand or to give them an impression of a strong or weak player? I dont use this(time taking) ..except when multitable tourney and we are not in hand for hand...or playing multi games at once...so when someone takes time against me I'm not sure what they are saying not that i would believe a poker player anyways..is my ignorance Bliss? or am i missing a key poker play here?
