KaciBlakely recently posted a hand involving her with Pocket kings on an A A rag flop. This brought up a question I had.
I dont know the exact statistics at all and dont pretend to but whenever I see an amateur hold a high pocket pair, JJ, QQ, KK whenever an over card comes they assume they are beat automatically and muck when an opponent bets or reraises.
This is a lesson for all amateurs, when you are facing a pro, semi pro, or anyone who knows the game they want to get insdie your head and as a person who knows the game I can tell when an amateur has a big pocket pair, so when the board hits something that is bigger then that, I will go to the felt bluffing that I have that card. For instance, lets say Im playing an amatauer in a live cash game.
He is under the gun, and raises to 5x BB ( amatuers generally overbet big pairs preflop). I will put him on a hand like JJ or QQ. Now if the board comes K Rag Rag and the amatuer bets OVER pot I will RERAISE 100% of the time to see if they really flopped trips OR if they have an underpair to the board.
I would like everyones thoughts on if they have noticed the smae thign or if it is just me?
