    Angry JJ Vs KQ

So i get dealt pocket jacks, & at this time i only have like just over 500 chips so i call, flop 5 J 4. So naturally i push, one guy calls shows KQ. Im thinking whatever i got this.. as if you're gonna get your 9 AND 10... but what happens.. turn 9.. im thinking no F*c*ing way hes gonna get a 10... River... 10!!!! REALLY! how bs is that? I'm gonna say that is a really big, bad suckout. On a side note to help others see why he might of called, was this a tournament? If so, what were the stack sizes of you and him and at what point in the tournament were you? In other words was this a bubble take out or very early in a tournament?

it was about 15-20mins in the tourney. I had a pretty decent stack for a while from winning the first few hands, but than got moved to this table ..and this guy just kept sucking me in, id have a great hand, hit the board, hed go runner runner something better lol. finally when i got the JJ and a jack was on the board i just pushed, not thinking he would honestly have something better, i knew he would call just because of how he was playing.. but I didnt expect him to actually hit both his outs.. so sick

That sounds like a really bad suckout. No way to avoid that one, other than fold your set when he bets.

I can't see how many chips the KQ has but if he had over 1500, He probably was looking at you with AJ at best to call....he has 2 overs ....so it's not just the straight he's thinking of....I can't see what the blinds are at this point..... I think short stacked I would have all inned it(the JJ not that play would have been different ...this guy would have called that too) ..not saying that that is the right play....because there is no right play up against a person who calls with speculation of catching a higher top pair??(insane, that said I've made that play...lol)...I'm telling you just to get some insight on the other guys play .....you did everything absolutely correct.... you can not fight a chipped up aggressive sherriff player(someone who thinks its his job to go all in with biggest stack to take out other tournament players)...... bad luck of the cards there girl ....better luck next time.

yeah it was a huge suckout!, i wasnt about to fold my set, especially since i flopped it i figured he had ace something.. or maybe a jack at best.. then he showed his A,K and i thought i had him.. no one would honestly think hed go runner runner 9,10 lol..well i didnt expect it to happen anyway! especially since hed call with sh it cards..and then somehow always hit.. go figure.. lol. i wouldnt have played it any differently though.

I was joking about folding your set. If you can figure out that he's gonna suck out on your set and fold, you are a better player than me.

If anyone ever folds a set i may kill them.

That being said, why push this hand? You have the complete nut hand on the flop, nothing is close to beating it, or has a good chnace of beating it. Why not check....??

Also, dont hate me, but if your 15-20minutes into a tourney, and you played and won the first few hands, then got mvoed and lost a lot of chips after getting good hands outdrawn.... your playing WAY too many hands.

On average in a tourney you get dealt id say 4 possible playable hands int he first 20mins, maybe more fi your lucky. I probably fold 2 to raises or such things, so on average i might play 3 hands int he first 20mins of an MTT.

I understand what your saying.. but this guy was playing ****..and would hit..so when i flopped my set.. and since i was short stacked already.. i pushed..cause i knew..well i thought i knew he didn't have anything..and i knew he would call..i wasn't about to check my set when i was in dire need of chips. but thank you for your insight eejit!
