    Default 10+1 7500 guarantee

so fn heated right now...i was playing the tourney of my life, im sitting back with 5900 in chips, tournament is tightening up and blinds are at 250/500...so im not in too great shape, BUT i knew i could cash...so a donkey who shoed down a very weak hand last time around the table when he tried to steal, makes his steal bet again, i pick up AQ suited in position on him, he raises 1425? or something liek that almost a 3 bet, i instashove with my AQ...im sorry but im not letting that go with my chip stack, ill take the chance im going up against AK, KK, or AA that late in the tourney...he sits there, and at that point, i know he tried to steal it with a medium strength hand so i start looking for the pot to see how much im gonna take, 9k, not bad, enough breathing room...he calls time...and i thought about just telling him i had a very strong ace, but nah, talking has gotten me into trouble before, so i let him sit there....he calls...my heart drops, he has A9 offsuit...wow, ok so i had him dominated...flop comes down, 456 offsuit...turn 7....at this point i braced myself bc i knew he was gonna hit it....river 8. then i proceed to ask him how he got this far in the tourney with that kind of play...it wasnt even like he had a huge stack, i think before the preflop call he had 17k, so it would basically swap positions and make him short stack...i dunno about you but im insta folding that had after a shove...im so fn pissed at fulltilt right now, it's unimaginable, im so glad i didnt put money into that site, because i NEVER will again.
here are the stats as always
    preflop -AQ 70%-A9 23%
    on the flop AQ 80.3%-13.7%
and the river, is fn bull****
f poker, f fulltilt, and f that donkey....

I've said this same statement almost 100 times now and no ones seems to listen. Why on gods green earth are you shoving all in with AQ and more than 10x the bb? If you want to show strength, reraise, don't "insta-shove." By insta-shoving you told that player that you intended to do that no matter what he did preflop which can tell him that you have a good hand, but not a strong one. Next time try just re-raising to around 3.5K and let him act. On the flop you can then make a good continuation bet and watch him fold. Instead of trying to win a huge pot, pick up a couple of small ones. If you hate a site as much as you seem to, why do you keep playing there? Try a different one. I will tell you that there are bad players no matter where you play.

DUDE, did u even read my post?
a 3.5k reraise would be well over half my stack, why let him see a flop? hed be priced in with a flop of 456 with two overs...

Yes it would be, but he's not going to call with A9 off suit. He was trying to steal the blinds from early position and was hoping for no resistance. Second off, when you bet on the flop, how does he call chasing a gut shot? Your re-raise didn't scream strength it screamed I'm trying to buy this pot more than you. Now, from his point of view, you have position and could have something like KQ suited, where he is ahead.

If he does call, he's not going to lead out with a bet with that flop and expect to pick up the pot, therefore he's not going to cripple himself with a bad play. Now when you bet, he's going to fold 80% of the time. The other 20% he's going to call and you are a huge favorite.

By pushing all in preflop you are taking away any advantage position offered you. Hell, if you just call, you can make a bet/raise on the turn based on his action. Now you have announced to the whole table that you know your hand is better and that he is trying to steal. You pick up the pot there too.

The biggest fact I'm trying to convey is don't give the power of position when you can use it to your advantage. There are many ways to play this hand where you have chips on the flop and can use them to your advantage with the best position. You chose the 1 way that took position out of the equation and left it up to chance. If that's how you want to play, great, but don't ***** when someone sucks out on you. After all, you allowed them to by not using position to your advantage.

And yes, I read your entire post twice to make sure I understood it before I submitted my first response. As a tip, post the history from the site, not your version of what happened. It makes it much easier to see exactly what happened.

You definately made the right move there. For you to have AQ in that hand and like you said, with your chip stack that far in the tourney, it's a must. Most people will do this with any two face cards and even mid-low pockets. Now I disagree with the mid pair but I guess it's all about position. For him to call with the A9 off, that is the typical donkey suckout. What is frustrating about this situation is that they usually win. Some how some way, they pull of miracles. I think if online poker were to be investigated regarding this flex in the generators, something may come up. Who knows, but you can't be upset about the move that you made. If you are, change stakes, that usually help. Being upset at the site is only going to lead to you having a grudge everytime you login to your account. Positives are that you did not deposit so therefore the only thing that should bother you is your bankroll and your time. Those are temporary issues that can easily be resolved if you act on it. Best of wishes, keep your head up.
