So I found myself board on a Saturday and figured that it would be a bad idea to take my boardem out on my bankroll. Usually when I am playing cause I have nothing better to do I play too many hands and the end result is too many bad decisions. I normally play 30% plus of hands so you can see how playing more would be a disaster. So I decided to play some heads up tables one pokerstars for a 10 buy in. And I played pretty well ever hand and won. Not only did I win I won easily. My crazy play confused my opponents so bad and I had them playing so many hands that they where normally not use to playing that I found they ended up making big mistakes. Here was my strategy (don't laugh)
1. Limp into every hand (call min reraises or three bets)
2. Min raise every flop (with pre flop raise or not)
3. Min raise every turn (unless check raised on the flop)
4. If the hand makes it to the river make a decision on what hands my opponent may have and decide how to finish (either min/half/Pot size bets)
Found this strategy worked really well. My opponents would start to try and trap me with big hands, however they where simply check calling or making small check raises. This would leave me hanging around in a pot to hit two pairs or make weak flush and straight draws. Also I found playing like this my opponents fold a lot on he flop and the turn so by the time they check raised me I had so much extra chips that I could release and start over again.
I do not play a lot of heads up games but decided to continue to play until I lost. To my amazement I won nine in a row. I took my lose hitting a straight against a flush but again this will happen with all the extra hands I was playing.
So it turns out that I started out on Saturday board out of my mind and found my self Tuesday writing a blog about it. Poker is crazy. So I am going to challenge myself to play 90 more games like this to see where my ROI will stand.
