i got this idea from whooohooosue.... i'm going to start a thread about the crappy things and stupidest things that i've heard or been told at work, lol (i work with people's personal taxes so they're usually REALLY happy with me or REALLLY angry at me, LOL)

today's stupid comments- the phone rings around 9am, I answer, Hello.... etc.... Caller: hi there, so you are open right now? me: yes we are can i help you with something? Caller: are you going to be open in 15 minutes?


what the? why would we close in 15 minutes when we've only been open for an hour?

stupid comment- phone rings around 10am, i answer, hello.... etc...... Caller: i did my taxes with you last year (silence) Me: okay, what can i do for you today? Caller: can you tell me what my refund is going to be? Me: Have you brought in your tax forms to me yet? Caller: no, i can't i'm at work and i don't want to book time off until i know what my refund is going to be!

wtf? how do i know if you get a refund or owe without the forms? theses were the 2 calls i got today that stumped me for a response..... HA, i'm sure i'm going to have tons of these almost daily, i'll keep you posted here

okay this one is really dumb..... LOL, and it came from me...... yesterday at work, we had a break with nobody in the office and i was preparing a families tax return.... i was holding a conversation with my cooworker as i was working and speaking out load....

as i was recheckiing the dependants i was talking to myself and was trying to think quickly of what year you'd be born if you are 5.... lol, and i guess i was so consumed with the conversation and my work at the same time and as i was talking out load to myself i said "so how old are you when your 5?" and my buddie almost fell off her chair when she heard me....

I was suppose to say "what year are you born if you're 5?" lol, it was a blank moment i was having i guess, all my brain waves were obviouslly being used up by other thoughts....

okay today i was yelled at..... hung up on a few times and praised all within the same hour..... lol but this is another funny

me: maritial status last year? person: i never got married

me: do you have any dependants? person: no i just have a couple kids

me: you have a balance owing of this much.... person: why don't you go back to school and learn how to add!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the rest of this statement i can't type because of the swearing LOL

me: i answer my phone after constant ringing..... person: i just called you and you hung up on me? me: i'm sorry i never realized i hung up? person: yah after i asked you a question and hung up you weren't there when i picked up again

today was another entertaining day and left me speechless:

Me: so is everything the same as last year? address, phone #? person: yeah
after I print out forms to sign...... person: I changed my last name back to my maiden name and I moved!

(come on peeps, i don't ask questions for nothing! there's another 5 mins of my life i can't get back)

caller: Hi, I just want to know if you are busy right now? are there a lot of people there?

Me: yes, we are very busy right now, the wait is about 1 hour.

caller: are you sure?

another call today:

I answer the phone, blah blah blah, etc...

caller: can I make an appointment to see you this afternoon with my taxes.

Me: I'm sorry we don't do appointments it's by walk in only, first come, first serve.

caller: can you pencil me in for 1pm this afternoon


some of the things I hear..... LOL, no wonder these people need to see me.... hahaha
