Default turning 50 bucks into a fortune...

in 3 weeks i will be beginning another online poker trial at making it big...my first two tries at this started at first with a 25 dollar deposit...which after 3 weeks turned into $175, from playing 5 dollar-6 person sng's, these are by far the best portion of my game...i say portion because a 6 person sit n go is alot like the final table of a MTT, i love playing these because it really boosts your confidence if you make it to the final table with a medium stack or better, and still gives you hope if your short...i love tourneys and i love cash games too, i have been successful at both, but not greatly successful, which i would like...my goal is after a 2-3 month period to cash out atleast 1000 dollars...the problem for me is i have tried this always on fulltilt, where donkeys rule, i have seen 2-3x more suckouts on fulltilt than on any other poker site in a single session...and im not talking about a 65-35% suckout, im talking about flopping trips and someone shoving with 2 suited over cards and runnering a flush...sickness, and vulgar...im thinking about either trying my luck on stars or carbon...i have played at carbon before, i love their software and the little percentages, stars has always been fun and is one fo my top 2 played most at sites, my problem is and has always been tilt/addiction...i would play those 5 dollar games and win like 1 out of 4 and place itm in 3 of 4, but id always seem to not be satisfied with the small 5 dollar gains, so i switched to playing MTT, while sitting at a cash table, and i found it to be very very hard to play both at the same time, i dwindled my BR down to about 14 bucks when i finally struck a little gold with a 1st place win at a 3.30 KO tourney with 8 KO's...brought me back to about 80-90 bucks, then i got interested in PLO, haha not one of my best games, but i tried it and started out GREAT on my first try, about 5 hands in at a cassh table, i had something like KKT9 and i flopped TT9 and two blanks followed and this guy threw all his money to me bc he was playing AA-rags, smooth called him all the way down for like 40 bucks, and all it takes is one HUGE pot to get hooked on a new game and before i knew it, i was dwindled down to nothing...i have been playing freerolls for the last, 2 months and honoestly, it has helped my game...yes, thats right, HELPED...it has taught me about hand potential with your chip utility, AND it has taught me to dodge bullets, im pulling off way more bluffs with no contest than i used to...anyways, i will be blogging the hell out of this thread and keeping everyone posted bc i gave up on railbirds and this site is way cooler and friendlier...anyone else feel free to join in with your bankrolling and keep me posted i love discussing hands, situations, and reads/tells...im also loking for a few people to join in a cash table with me on a regular basis...i want to start playing .25/.50 HORSE...get at me guys and gals...thanks everyone,
    MIKE

Try to space out some of your paragraphs and thoughts, it just helps all of us read everything a whole lot easier! But other than that great post, and thanks for the read! Keep at it!

Paragraphs are sections of words. Like i will show now. My first pargraph is this one, which is explaining paragraphs. Now im done with that...

Ill start a new one! See?

Now paragraph 3 - Your idea is..... well, in theory good. But with $50 following bankroll management you can only sit at a cash table with $2.50.... Much more than that and your risking a considerable proportion of your roll on 1 table, which is bad. And try and master one game, not learn and play everyone. I dont know anyone online who can play 2 games awesomely. Not one single person.

NDN can play razz pretty well tho

gl on building your bankroll....... i did that last month, well this month, i started out with a few bucks, hit the sng tourney's got up to $200 lost a bit, dropped to $50 and rebuilt to $500. My trick was to play the $2 - $5 sng's win a few of those and then I hit up the $11 - $22 sng's. I played a couple $33 and a bit $55 but never won em' that's how my bankroll almost disappeared, but if you win the $55 sng it's $240 to the winner and that's a good day on the tables!

thank you to everyone who replied, i appreciate your feedback...
after a 6th place finish in the OFC freeroll on saturday, my fulltilt acct is currently at (45.61) . This week i will cash in my chips to the big guy, and add 5 bucks to my FT acct to start with 50.61, and begin my quest.

I have NEVER bankrolled before and i feel that this is my first downfall, i would play with maybe 20 bucks and try and hit 2-3 low limit tourneys for like 7-10 bucks. This time i will follow standard BR protocol, which i believe is something like never risking more than 5% of your stack...this leaves me at 2.50 max buy ins...so here goes, I will be playing many Low limit Multi-table tournies in an effort to hit one for a nice chunk of change, then move up slightly in limits. Im getting pretty good at the freerolls and the play isn't that much different in the low limits, so i think im primed for some solid showings.

A friend of mine just recently played 4 straight days of poker, (NLH, Razz, PLO8, and Horse) and moved up the ladder in limits in very fast time. He cashed out just over $1,000 on saturday for a 50 dollar deposit. However he played the 10+1 buy in tourneys...kinda risky, but he's a very good poker player. Anyone think i should just play more expensive tournies with the free money i won? im thinkin about it, only because it's better play at the higher limits and not as many/bad suckouts...

playing more than 1 game at a time isnt really a good thing , you wont be able to concentrate in the game and there are even times thatwhen your about to click bet or call then the other window will appear and instead of calling or betting on the other game your playing you will turn out to be misclicking on the other game. thats why playing in more than a game isnt recomended.thats for me dont know about the others on how they like playing in more than a game.

i like playing multigames ..well lets just say in multi leagues it's more like forced to play multi games....that said.... i agree ive hit wrong button more times than not ....i am not one that takes notes and prob wouldn't find time to check in a multigame situation any ways so .... you are so right ...to play well u need to watch others play in order to read wether to fold or raise against them when its your turn against them ...so i would say no to multi-tables

my only conflict to that advice is as for me when im in 2...it seems to give me just enuf distraction to not take away my ability to watch the tables while easing my "I'm Bored so make bad calls" issue.

But GL guy ..make lots o money ...fly us all out to vegas for a weekend ...I'm behind u 100% ..

multi table sessions are ok, but you then play more of a "math" type of game, whereas i'm more of a "feel" player. so i tend to only play one table sessions, and i will only be playing MTT's. I occasionally get bored with tournies or don't have 4-5 hours to sit infront of the computer bc of work, so i may play some low limit cash tables of NLH, Stud, HL, or even horse...

ok so a little review of todays BR events...
first this morning, before work, i got the poker bug but didnt have the time to play a tourney, so i messed around at the micro stakes of .02/.04, got donkey out for 2 dollars...and came right back and got most of it back from the same guy...
went to work then for a while,
came home and played a 3.30 KO tourney which i got sucked out with KK, and went ont ilt after that.

I ate some lunch then and recouped for yet another 3.30 KO with my boy, thenutzaa, and just like that a 1-2 finish...
some big hands in this tourney for me, JJ,QQ,KK,KK,KK,KK, AKs, AQ, TT, 44...pr much any pr imaginable was unbeatable for me in this tourney...woot

also, during the first half of this tourney, i played a 6 handed $5 SnG...which i won...i'd like to add that i lost alot of chips early when i raised with AK suited, SB calls with AQ, we both flop an ace, i get my money in there, and he calls and rivers a Q...down to 360 chips, i sit back and Vwallah, 4 hands later i give em the HOOKS w/ JJ, racing against AQ, and 66, took it down, triple up plus the blinds to about 1200...played smart and weaseled my way back in...
being in the 5 handed sng helped me play very tight early on ...
account currently at $107 and climbing...

ok I've decided never to spell Voila right ever again ...im spelling it Vwallah...too cute...I'm corrected all the time by a friend of my misspellings and I truly believe my version is the right one and the guys that wrote the dictionary were bored and didn't give certain words much attention.
