gorayray raises to $2.50 now we can assign a range. A set would call here, so count that out 95% of the time. AK would raise, very likely, as is KQ/KJ/KT at this level. Also maybe A8, and possible TT-AA also.
ffcowboy76 raises to $6.50, and is all in i sometimes call this, check the turn and let him fire into the pot to guarantee an all-in from him. Id be 95% sure im ahead, so calling this and checking any turn is a +EV play imo. This way works to, the only difference here is that if he has complete air (nothing) then he is gonna fold to the raise. If you call and let him bet into a turn which maybe he hits.... your gtd an all-in from him

Due to some bankroll limits I only buy in to a 10c/25c NL table with $10. I will leave for only a couple of reasons. 1st if I double up and start getting nothing for hands and 2nd if I lose my buy in. I'm very profitable on this particular level, so buying in for less than max allows me to risk a little to make a good profit. Last check I was around 11 BB/100 hands with 9000 hands at the level.

Shortstacking is the professional term for what your doing, and its got a hell of a lot more popular recently

Playing the way I do, it doesn't affect how I play by being short stacked. I don't mind having to push, but will only do so when my read tells me I'm ahead. Like I said before, it limits the amount at risk to only a portion of my bankroll. If you play a tight game it isn't a bad idea to try. If you are confident in your reading ability and your ability to avoid tilt then it might work for you.

Ive done this a bit in the past, sitting with 10 or 20 BBs, trying to increase what im sitting with by half. E.G sit at 5/10 NL with $100, leave at $150 or above.

The problem is just that, leaving when you get to your target.

Plus you get a lot of moves open to you sitting shortstacked, allins look more strong than a bet from a guy with alot of chips. Opens up some plays. Stop and Gos being one

However, doing so can cost you in some situations. First, when you get the awesome setup where both players are going to get all in, such as set vs. set, you severely limit your winnings, and these few hands are where the majority of you NLH winnings will come from. Second of all, by leaving when you are winning you give up a bunch of value in later hands, as you have already established an image as a "winner" which can give you an edge later, as people will tend to show you respect.

If I'm winning and have a good feeling at the table I will stay until I start to go card dead. After 3 or 4 rounds if I don't get a good hand I will pack up and move to a different table. The nice part about online is there are ALWAYS open tables to sit at. Another perk of playing different tables is it allows me to gather information on other players to use in the future. I find that a sizable sample (100+ hands) is usually a good image of what the player will do in the future.
