I definitely think that this is a smart move. I was starting to see a lot of copy and pasted articles. Kind of like how there were a lot of very short post with not much of a point with the old system.
Praise the lord
I honestly just read this rule now after i had posted some articles from other sources. I just liked passing on articles that i enjoyed reading, and knew others would too. Is there anyway we can keep posting these but just not get awarded chips? (And not get penalized)
Because there are many articles out there that the only reason i post them is because they say things better than i can.
I will only deduct the chips that you received for the article posted (and I will only do this if the majority of a member's posts become article based).
So feel free to post any articles - I will only deduct the chips you earned for the article posts.
Ok thanks NDN that clears things up for me a bit. Just thought i needed to defend myself in that i wasnt just posting to earn the chips
Why can't you summarize what you've read and expond ..then let me rebut or reiterate your views. I'm totally for this change. Quote from the article if you must but i tooo see no need for article pasting by large.
Are we allowed to post a link to the article? Probably not. Maybe thats why you feel the need to copy and paste. Maybe a seperate area that does not get posting points is needed. Can't be sure if that is even possible.
Ty NDN for you vigilance in standing watch over us. I'm having a real good time here and love the games ..well the black ninjas give me a fit ..but i will get them ..
It is possible to create sections that will not award chips, but I don't think this would help prevent articles from being copied and pasted.
I'm not too worried about it.
This isn't a major problem at the moment and as long as I deduct chips manually for any excessive articles being copied and pasted I think we'll be ok!
NDN,
Looking for some clarification. If I write an article and post it on one of my sites and then copy and paste it here, is that going to have chips taken from me? I hope that isn't the case and I miss understood what you were doing.
