    Default PokerChamps really sucks!!!

    Hi all...

I am now fed up with PokerChamps... I am sick and tired of the lack of support I get from them and sick and tired that they just take my money and not give a damn about it... I went to play in a $2 or $3 tournament there last night... so while I was waiting for the tournament to begin I was surfing the net... anyway tournament was due to start and I was wondering why I wasn't prompted to "sit down" 5 minutes before the tournament started... so I check and what did I find... the software had lost disconnection to the servers... ok... so I waited for the software to connect and I get this message which says that they are aware that there is a problem and that they are working to rectify the problem... anyway an hour later still the same message and still no connection! During this time however I closed the software down on numerous occassions and was getting the same result... so I sent them an email... here is what happened...

    Hi Support,

I entered a tournament last night my time about 1am I think... it was a $2 or $3 turbo... well problem is that your site experienced some problems and I was never able to enter the tournament. I would like you to refund the money back to my account as this is the second time that this has happened to me since I started to play on PokerChamps. I cannot remember the tournament ID number but my PokerChamps ID is RogueAus... this would be much appreciated..

    Kind Regards,
    RogueAus
    They replied...

    Hello RogueAus,

We have policies covering refunds of buy-ins if the disconnection
relates to our servers being down.

As we are fully operational, your disconnect may relate to a local
issue such as: connection traffic, heavy downloads, other games running,
Internet radio etc. all of which may overload your dedicated bandwidth and prevent necessary data from our servers being able to reach your end in due time. If data gets obstructed in its path it is likely you'll
    experience events as occurred.

Rectifying data is usually done by your correct action:
    logout and re-login.

    Regards,
    PokerChamps * Support~
    Hello Support,

sorry to say that the problem was from your end not mine... I was able to
access the internet during your outage and I got a message that you guys
knew there was a problem and that you were working to rectify the situation!
I am however very annoyed as to why you would send me an email telling me
that my end was the one having problems when it was clearly your servers
that were down! This is not the first that this has happened with your site!
I am very annoyed with the customer service from your end as well. Please
refund the money I paid to play in the tournament that I never got to play
in because yout servers were down!

    Regards
    RogueAus
    So Support...

what is the verdict... do I get a refund back or do you keep my money and
say up yours...??? How long does it take to give a refund back???

    Getting VERY ANNOYED
    RogueAus
    > Hello RogueAus

We are sorry there will be no refund as our servers were fully
    operational.

    Regards,

    Support...

YOU have got to be joking... you are telling me that I do not get a refund
because your servers were running...??? WHAT BULL**** IS THIS...!!!! Maybe
you could explain why I could not connect to your servers and play in my
paid tournament...??? I had NO problem surfing the internet while your
severs were down waiting for you to rectify the problem... I had NO problem
sending email to my friends in the USA.... yet I was unable to connect to
your servers... because for some unkown reason you seem to think that
everything was running all nice... WELL EXCUSE ME BUT YOU HAD BETTER EXPLAIN
TO ME WHY I COULDN'T CONNECT TO YOUR STUPID SERVERS AND PLAY A TOURNAMENT I
PAID FOR WITH GOOD HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!... I guess the next thing I
should hear from you is an apology for your lack of customer service and
your STUPIDITY... GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!

    Pissed Off Now
    RogueAus
Its not the loss of the money that worries me... but the fact that they think that they can get away with doing something like this... even tonight I was playing in a tournament there and there were heaps of people disconnected... I guess this is how PokerChamps stays afloat these days by stealing... and as you all know if you have read my previous beefs about them, the software they use I swear is rigged... how can one person get J5 os or even suited 7 out of 10 hands and have a run of over 30 straight hands where you get nothing but **** hands! I went from about 7000 chips to 2000 chips in this time... and I will tell you I had no pairs and no big slicks... highest card was a J... but that is another story... any way will keep you all posted with this and let you know the outcome...

    Hello RogueAus

Please remember that you agreed to the following (and more) when you
decided to play at our tables.

    PokerChamps License Agreement

By clicking on the "Accept" or "Continue" button, you acknowledge and
warrant that you fully understand and agree to comply with all the terms
and conditions as stated in this license agreement as well as any posted
    guidelines on the pokerchamps.com website.

Any participation in the games is at your sole choice, discretion and
    risk.

The entire risk arising out of use or performance of the software
    product remains with the Licensee.
That said, rest assured we also wish to keep both connectivity and
servers alive 24/7 - and our tech staff works hard to keep every detail
as top-notch as possible. Sometimes, though, events out of our control
can cause problems. There is nothing we want more than to fix and learn
from such experiences. We will continue improving, and that's a promise.

    Regards,
    PokerChamps * Support-

    Support...

I don't give a damn about your promise to improve and learn from such experience!!! All I care about is you refunding my money because of the problem you had yesterday with your servers... That is all I care about... nothing more and nothing less...!!!! Please explain to me where it says that stealing peoples money is not a criminal offence... because in effect that is what you are doing... YOU ARE STEALING!!! All I asked for was a refund of the money I paid to play in a tournament that I never played in because your servers were not fully operational at the time... I did not ask for a promise that you will improve and I did not ask for you to learn more from this experience... all I did was asked for my money back... GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!
    Do they not ever learn...!!!

    Hey Rogue,
I am sorry to hear about your problems.
I sent them an email and will see if I can get anything further from them.

If not - Perhaps this could be an issue that I can pass on to someone with a little more "power." I don't think too many people would like to hear about their action if it was their fault (and it appears it is).

I wouldn't suggest swearing at them when trying to get something resolved - clearly you had a right to be frustrated (who wouldn't be) but I don't think that will get you too far.

I sent you $5 via Poker Champs in the mean time - I know you don't care about the money - but it's a gesture from me to show you that I appreciate your loyalty to this website! It's good to have you here and I am glad you have stuck around.

Please use the $5 and grab a drink for me tonight!

Will let you know if I hear back from them.

    Thanks,
    NDN

    Hiya NDN...

thanks for that... and I just got an email back from them saying that they will pass it on to the gaming department... Mate you didn't have to do that... but all the same I appreciate it... NDN I'm not swearing at them... far from it... just trying to emphasis a point so that they understand that I am not happy... I keep putting up with PokerChamps and keep getting frustrated BUT... I keep playing there! Maybe I am hoping that one day everything will be as it should be... no glitches and the software actually playing fair... and as for sticking around on your site... mate just try get rid of me (well don't really, but you know what I mean)... I like it too much here! and as for the drinks... well I am certainly not driving tonight and it is Friday here today... so I guess the drinks will flow free and easy and I will have a few for you as well... :P Once again mate... thanks and cheers...!!!

Was also told they will forward it to the same department - It's a race to see who gets a response first! Let me know if you get things taken care of before they get back to me.

I sure wish it was Friday here - but then again - any night is a good night for a drink!

I wouldn't even think to get rid of you - you're the backbone of this site!

    Talk to you soon!

Funnily enough i also had a problem with Pokerchamps. Was playing in one of there freerolls and i got knocked out. Now instead of actually being knocked out i suddenly had over 1,000,000 chips in comparison to the 1,000 i had started with?!? Bug in the system somewhere i think. But i kept playing and sure enough they just stopped the tourney without paying out a penny to anyone. Not that i expected it but you'd think they would at least pay out accordingly for the players who were left in. Maybe they couldnt afford the money that night...

To be honest I think this is one of the first times I have heard complaints of this nature - Hopefully I get some kind of response from them.

PokerChamps is such a different site now than it was a year ago. The sale to Betfred ruined it for me. I'm indebted to Champs because that was where I really started playing seriously (there and True Poker if you can believe that), but I hate to see what the site has devolved into. The best tourney on the net used to be the Gus 10 at Champs, with its easy $2 qualifiers, but now it's all gone. Pity...

well guess I missed it when it was a good site, played there 6 or 7 months ago with a start from ND, got my balance up to over a couple hundred, mistakenly e-mailed about time on a cashout.Never won another hand there, could been a bad run I guess just made me a lil leary.

I've played there regularly for 2 years until recently when I recieved the message, "Due to a long-standing policy regarding the banning of players located in China, Japan, and The United States, we have closed your account. You are no longer eligible to participate at PokerChamps.

    Sure, you love me when I'm losing...but once I started winning money it's, "Buh bye...Go F*** a duck...Your kind's not welcome here!"

No problem. I can lose money in much better places than PC

RogueAus, I am very glad to hear your problem was resolved. The thing I have the biggest problem with after reading everyone's stories is that it seems that they blow people off and take everyone's money – unless someone with a bit more power (like NDN) gets involved and then they give back the money to avoid a scandal.

Dare I say perhaps they are getting away with these swindles because they placate anyone who takes it one step up (and it never gets any further because the situation has been defused)?

I looked up 'PokerChamps scam' on Google and found nothing (except for angry Americans who lost out on any money they had in their terminated accounts)... so people aren't complaining too much (or I'm a bad searcher!).

No, this deal with Champs is not a scam. Other sites (the new Poker4Ever notably) are pulling out of the US too. Its my belief that they are unsensibly scared of this new anti-gambling bill coming to the senate. Its going to be amazing at how much $ these sites lose because of this.

Being a visionary, I see a future coalition amongst the big sites, with Stars, Para, and Party all banding together to fight this thing off. Between those three, theres a lot of $ and manpower to do a lot of persuading.

    Just a note...
If you had a Poker Champs account with money in it - You are still eligible to receive your money. If you can't get in contact with them to request a withdrawal I would be more than happy to assist in that area.

Please contact me if that's the case!

I just found my old post in this thread.

I hate hearing bad stories about Poker Champs--even though I can't play there anymore from the US--because that's where I cut my poker teeth. I'm glad I can Google images of Poker Champs as seeing the old slick green/black look of it brings back good memories, like a kick in the pants or going back to fundamentals. However, a friend of mine who was an affiliate for Poker Champs had trouble getting his money off the site, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I miss it the way IT WAS. When I hear bad reports about it, I chalk it up to the unfortunate changes.
