    Default Rounders Radio - Discussion

I was listening to the discussions today and they were talking about jurisdictions regarding online sites and the U.S. government and the future for restricted states. I think that the federal government should decide to either make gambling legal or not but the problem is that polititions feel that it is a huge risk. Good news: Oboma seeks to change these laws while being a poker player himself.

So Obama likes poker? That, together with the fact that the laws against online gambling all came from STUPID Bush, I doubt that Obama wont change it

I totally disagree man, there is heavy money involved, if it opens up in US many companies would have their offices at Vegas, like for example PokerStars I am sure they would and to get more involvement with the WSOP and such, it would be great tax income for the US gvmnt in this time of real need

    Lol you dont get it

The ONLY way PS and the like will mvoe to Vegas (which is pointless) is if they are offered payment for it.

PS based in gibraltar say - its a tax haven. Cheap labour, low overheads.

Vegas - Crazy. If you move your entire operations to Vegas... think of the overheads, the new buildings etc, noone will do that.

The UEGIA or whatever it is called nowadays will stay, and Barack wont change it.

EDIT - just noticed the WSOP bit. They are involved as uch as they can be. They practically own 2 hotels when they go there, they dont need it.

eejit, remember my words ok: When USA opens up to online gaming, PokerStars WILL HAVE an office in Vegas.

Now, you need a bit more info:

    1) PokerStars is based currently on the Isle of Man, UK
    2) They used to have their servers in Canada and just a few months ago moved all out of Kanawhakee Commission to be AWAY from the UB/AP scandal and Kanawhakee protecting and supporting UB/AP.
    3) They have 3 support offices located in: Costa Rica, Australia and London
    4) NEVER has PokerStars been based in Gibraltar nor will it ever be.
    5) I never said that PS would MOVE to Vegas, I only said that they would have offices and most likely a PokerStars poker room like the one in Maccau, so i think that you need to investigate a bit on this, cause i know what I am talking about bro

I said "Pokerstars is in gibraltar say" not they are. ITs the same thing as Isle Of Man

Why are they in the IOM?? Tax haven, i live 40 miles from it. approx.

    so...

    1- i know
2 - i know, its owned by canadians. And yes, i knew that bit. Im saying the company trades from the IOM.
3 - i know, ive been to the London one.
4 - Dont assume that. If the IOM changes ideas, thats where they will go
5 - PS wont have a vegas office!!! What good could come from it??? Just another outlay.

They were saying that major Casino's in Las Vegas already have casino's lined up or already on the market online. But I think Pokerstars would definately, have an office in Vegas if they don't already lol.

I'm curious to see where this goes, I have investors a call away but before I get involved I'm trying to learn every end of it so I know exactly what's going on and how to compete. If this happens, it would be interesting to see the progression in casino gaming. Wonder if it would affect Vegas.. Although Vegas is like a theme park now and more a vacation destination for the kids as well now.

I do think many casinos are against online gaming and why wouldnt they, online has taken a BIG or HUGE chunk out of their pockets LOL
