    Default Bad Beats

Awhile back I was playing on Absolute Poker and got my bankroll from 800 to 4500 in less than 72 hours. I found myself sitting at the 5 10 game short handed with 2 others: One guy was really tight and just playing his hand. And the other was loose and quite dumb. I battled with him for a good hour before a caught a wired pair of tens. Avg bet pre was around 40 so i put it at 60. He calls with the flop coming 8 10 8. I was shocked that I might actually be able to take this guy's chips and be done for the night. I check it, he bets 240... I actually thought twice and told myself that I am commited and would see this down (I can't assume he has 8 So I min raise....He SHOVES. Wow.. I didn't know whether to jump for joy or hang myself. I call, he turns over 8 10 off. The anticipation is RUNNING THROUGH MY BLOOD the turn card...... 8

Does a corporation own them or is are they private? I didn't know the two were related.

no point making a skin for yourself.

Unless u like throwing away money.

Finding players who WANT to play at a tiny site with no players is hard... when can have FT/PS!

i wouldnt do it, i would invest in the big ones though

It's the network that attracts me, without it you have to invest in a marketing team, sales, support, etc. A lot of work for a lot of money, and that's hoping that you will get traffic and not have to fire the idiots under you.

eejit, i am sorry but you are wrong, all these "small sites" you call have about 1000 active players daily, now, let's see it this way:

First, finding players is easy with: affiliates, rakeback offers and deposit bonuses. Millions of players are looking out DAILY for new sites just to get new deposit bonus options...so say you start your skin on a settled network and then....

say you reach 1000 players, and that you have 500 online always playing (as it is a network they will all find games going on) so, lets say you got 50 ten player tables.....

Lets say you play 1 raked hand per minute, raking $0.10 a hand (just to use a small number) times 50 tables???

1 x $0.10 x 50 tables x 60 minutes x 24 hours = $7,200 a day on rake....so you are telling me that a skin is THROWING AWAY MONEY when all you need are a lowsy 100 players to start raking at least 1/5 of $7200?? That's still $1000 a day roughly, so, I ask you, would YOU eejit, be the HAPPIEST guy out there with $1000 extra everyday in your pockets?

Skins work because Networks work because they promote affiliates and rakeback, if not and without these 2 components, skins wouldnt exist and there would only be 5 poker sites in the world, to the most LOL
