Proposing a 64-team college football playoff

I could see a 32 team or a 16 team playoff to determine the national champion. 32 teams would take 5 weeks to complete and 16 would take 4 weeks to complete. I personally think that they could cut a couple of weeks off the schedule and make it say 10 weeks. The top 16 in the AP polls make the playoffs. Play the next 4 weeks to determine the national champion. It works great for basketball, why can't it work for football.

No, 16 is to many. 8 is a perfect number. Hell I would take a four team playoff at this point. This BCS crap is a joke. Use the BCS to seed the teams in the bracket that is all it is good for.

I could see 8 teams. Use some of the bowl games to be the tournament games. It would make the bowl games a bit more interesting. Most of them are a lopsided joke.
