Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad
Heres her cardplayer.com bio:
Norwegian-born Annette “Annette_15” Obrestad’s story had all of the key components to make her an Internet sensation: 1) She built her huge bankroll having never deposited a single krone (she started out playing freeroll tournaments), 2) She’s young (not of age to play poker in the U.S.), and 3) She’s a woman (that alone would make her a sensation on most online poker forums).
Obrestad has proven her mettle by consistently sitting high atop the online poker tournament leader boards. Her online tournament wins include at least eight first-place finishes and more than $450,000 in winnings at PokerStars alone. She has even won a 180-person sit-and-go without looking at her cards (she admits looking once, before she decided to take the idea of winning the tournament without looking seriously).
She’s put herself to the test in live tournaments outside of the U.S. (in countries where she is of age). She cashed for $12,415 at the 2006 UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic when she came in 37th place. Then, at the inaugural 2007 World Series of Poker Europe, Obrestad made poker history. She won the main event and broke the record for most money won by a woman in WSOP events. Obrestad outlasted 361 players to take home the £1 million ($2,013,102) first-place prize.
