Default Shorty!!! Can you lay down BigSlick???

Well who hasn't been deep in a tourney?

Say you are the shortstack and get dealt AK but in late position and 2 other players have already pushed all in in fron of you.

What do you do here? Can you really let go AK and wait for a better scenario (preferably 1 vs 1) or do you take a chance with the BigSlick?

I would take my chances, it can be a "quadruple up" if you see it the right way

Plus being shortstacked, how long can you really wait if you are already deep in the tourney?

    Shove'em all in and pray!!!!!!!!!

if i'm short stacked and get ak there is no folding, its all about pushing and hoping either you double and you're in contentions again or your put out of your misery lol..

Yeah, me too, plus, if there's 2 or 3 guys also in the pot, then you can really get back into the tourney. I know it's mostly decided by a lot more factors like chip counts and style of play of the person pushing in front of you but I still believe it is a risk well taken

Klinkman and I have a running joke about this- after watching so many people go bust with it, I've determined that one should always be careful with AK! So I am...but he still thinks I'm wrong lol. So I always give him crap when he's not being careful with it!

I think it depends on the hand and most importantly, your position. If you notice on High Stakes Poker, most players will muck that hand if there is a raise, allin situation in early postion. Thus, you have to assume that someone has atleast QQ or better. Or even AK, making your hand a less favorite. This is when I usually notice that people loose with this hand. Just because you have AK, doesn't mean no one else has A's or K's in the hand (whether mucked or not) people seem to forget this.

Well if I am small stack it depends on how many more hands I have left and the action going on at the table. I do not have a problem laying big slick down if I feel that it is necessary. I have busted out many a tournies with that hand, as a result I tend to feel more comfortable with KQ many times rather then AK as funny as that may sound.
