Without going too in depth, it is LEGAL to play online poker in nearly all U.S. states.

The UIGEA was aimed at the poker rooms themselves. It could be argued that it's not legal for the poker rooms to accept U.S. bets, but even that still lies in a grey area.

*Because I am not a lawyer and can't give legal advice, you should always check your local laws with regards to online gaming.

    TRUE

UIGEA in first instance banned all games that are considered to be games of LUCK.

Poker by itself is not considered a game of luck, but instead a game where skill will get you further than luck, therefore it is not considered to be part of the "illegal gaming" like sportsbooks or casinos.

Now, when it comes to deposit methods this is where the UIGEA screwed us all, because they made deposits into gaming sites illegal and we all know all sites including casinos and sportsbooks and poker site all use same processors.

So basically poker was pulled through within these restrictions, LOL

Now the concept being handled through the USA now is that in fact Poker aint illegal but the deposit options are

Party Poker pulled out because the shareholders wanted not to mess with USA, I doubt they will even intend to come back

I was never a big fan of Party Poker anyway. It was the first site that I ever downloaded and played on but as soon as I saw Paradise Poker I never looked back at Party Poker. Paradise was by far my favorite site before the ban.
