    I should add that I wouldn't be surprised if Club WPT is operating in the red right now, but with regulation not far away, the potential for future profits is probably lucrative enough to keep them afloat.

    ya, if it gets legalized... who knows, if a holy roller is elected... clubwpt just seemed to do it all wrong. people dont get on there cuz u cant really make money w the 20$ a mo. stakes... there would have to be a way where if u are a 50$ subscriber u get access to this part of the site, a gold member 250$ this part, platnium 500$ this part, and then run the tournaments w normal payout amounts all day long, etc... unless FTP and all those sites just make most their money from a ton of new 1 time 25$ depositors, but I wouldnt think that would be the case.

    why cant Poker stars, FTP.net do this sort of thing?

    I'd imagine for the same reasons I outlined above. That it would take quite a bit of time and resources to implement and by the time it was done they would have wasted too much money because the industry will have already been properly regulated.
