5 Card Trivia Discussion & Suggestions

Wanted to start a new thread where we can throw around some ideas to improve 5 Card Trivia without clogging up the actual contest thread.

First, a few notes...

1. Eventually, I'd like to implement a bonus structure for the 5 Card Trivia game based on the winning hand. Meaning, the higher the winning hand, the bigger the prize.

2. I may change this to something other than trivia down the road, but for now, this seemed like the easiest way to get things going that can involve the greatest number of people.

3. In the trivia format, I think we'll see a bump in activity as it's more of a participation based contest than the other ones we have.

Just had a thought.

Once a player is happy with their hand.... instead of them having nothing to do till the game is over, can they not keep answering, and if they wish to keep their hand, that can simple ask under their answer for you to draw a random card and remove it from the game?

This means obviously everyone has something to do for a while while this game completes.

That could help speed things up if we get bored. We'll keep it on the table and will put it up for consideration for the next round.

some other ideas for contests could be a poem or song writing contest.

You can have a theme week or Limerick week.

it would also mean the stacked(and obviously above average) player has a way to influence the games outcome without gambling their own fate ......which i totally loved about the answer and randomly lose a card and get a card thing.....i like the "while other contestants try to better thier hands it frees cards for others to better theirs" genious and so equalizing for those players that can't come on so often.....ejit maybe we could all chip in for batteries for your butt plug while you wait for the cards to arrange themselves in a way to bring you back into the game.

i know but under current rules you sit out of a question or gamble fate.....under you suggestion you can choose to spoil others chances once you've reached your desired hand......I say i disagree that that would be for the betterment of the game....and i'm offering to subsidize you having to sit quietly with my fair share of battery supply. this is and always will be my opinion in response to your suggestion.

The point is though, if you are here often enough and answer lots of questions and finally get your hand, shouldnt you have a right to defend it? As you got in in the first place?
