I'm a bit tired at the moment, so I need some help creating a new contest!

Here are my initial ideas:

I would like to develop a contest (of any kind) where people are awarded random cards from a standard deck of cards for performing an action (such as guessing a trivia question correctly, making a post about something, etc...).

The goal of this contest would be to collect as many cards as you can and then use them to create your best five card poker hand.

The person with the best five card hand at the end of the contest would then receive an Amazon.com gift card.

I need your help figuring out how we can make this work!

The person who posts a feasible contest that we end up using will receive a $5 Amazon.com gift card!

I dont know about my ability to come up w a new game, but I can tie it into the games u already have...

U could tie it into the daily trivia game, who wins day by day... best hand at the end of the month

or tie it into the football pickem... assign each game a card, if U pick the game right, U get that Card... (maybe assign a flop to the team on thursday game, a turn to each on the sunday night game, and a river to the monday night game?)... and if u do it this way-
I was try to tie betting into it like, start w 100 chips... but it doesnt really work w no hole cards and would just be every shoving after sunday...

u can do the connect celebity connection thing that way... assign the flop, then if u do it in 1 u get a Ace, 2 a King, 3 a Queen, etc... then one day deal a random turn, then a random river etc... I dont know how easy it would be for some one to control the amount they did it in, say like -get a straight in 3-5 straight days... or quads in 3-4 days

Ok, ive done something like this before.

What you can do is the following....

52 cards in a deck. Obviously this would be 5 card stud. So there would be no need for a flor turn and river.


Each week you generally do 5 contests. Each contest winner received 2 cards.

At the end of each month, give 5 cards to the trivia winner, 3 to 2nd, 1 to 3rd, as its a longest contest.

Also - award a bonus card to people who maybe got insanely close to the arcade score, or asked a great question in 20 questions.

So.....

1 month.

Trivia Winner - 5 Cards. 2nd - 3 Cards. 3rd - 1 Card.
Contest Winner - 2 Cards.
Bonus Awards - 1 Card.


For the card drawing - use RANDOM.ORG - Playing Card Shuffler

This allows you to remove the cards a certain player already has! Obviously you PM the cards to the winner, and it is up to them to make the winning hand in the claim period after the events.

The issue with drawing a flop is it would mean someone with only 1 card could have the nut flush, while someone who has won 10 games, would only be able to maybe have trips or something as they didnt get the Ace of spades.

I dont like the triva stuff, its too easy to google it and find the answer

... the daily triva here is diff. its timed, etc...

but I would do something else then just ask a Triva Question

exactly, which is why im not putting too much emphasis on it. 5 cards for a month compared to 8 or 10 cards for another forum based challenge.

I'll continue to ponder this and will see if I can use everyone's suggestions at the end of the week to make a new contest.
