I have had several online names, but my friends call me Jeff.
I got my start at online gaming some 11 years ago by accident really.
I use to play online scrabble alot and also RPG Age of Empires and abit of chess and backgammon.
I found a weekly contest of sports prediction questions called MegaSports.
I won the first year $200 twice. I also found a free sports betting contest at FREESB.com.
It is still going on today but now called Intertops.net.
After awhile of winning t-shirts and hats, I won my first $10 prize. That $10 was awarded at Intertops.com, which had a poker room and casino as well as a real sportbook.
At first I bet my $10 on football games and won $20 more and then I decided to give poker a try.
I had never played Texas holdem before and it sounded fun.
Well I found out quickly that I was quite good at poker and started cashing in every 3-4 months. In those days, I had to wait for a check. Ha
The great thing about playing at Intertops is that it was new and fresh and had lots of gar. money games and very few players. I can't remember a game that didn't have dead money or
more than 50 players. After Intertops changed skins some years later, I started playing only $5 sit and goes and found I could maintain a great ROI and was making enough money as a part time job. After some 2000 sit and goes I elevated to $10 games and suffered a 20% loss in ROI and went back to $5 games. A few months later I became so bored playing 10 man sit and goes, that I quit playing them! That is when poker became only a hobby to me. I only play them now when my bank roll is low. I finally got sick of Intertops and started playing at Cake through another forum. There I only played in private games and did very nicely. That's when I noticed the NDNPT scheduled at Cake and decided to check it out. Wow, free money for posting and a league that had just started at PDC and Cake. Having never played at PDC, I played in the 1st $50 freeroll and won $10 and had enough to play in the $5 pay game the next day. In the 1st 3 months, I went on to cash in about $800 for posting on the forum and finished as the top cash winner in the league.
I am a member on several other forums but don't have more than 30 posts except here at NDN. Why NDN? It's obvious and I will say it. I got free money to post. How can anyone not be enticed by that offer? Something happened during that 6 months of posting for money,
I met some really cool people and became friends with some of them. Some of those friendships still endure today. For that I am truly grateful to NDN and the opportunity he gave me to make friends online. For a guy who lives in the Sierra Nevada mountains, where there is not alot things to do and people, that was awesome.
Now the Canadian girls are running things and I am so excited to see how more awesome
they can make our home away from home. Welcome Tracy and Judy and Thank you for promoting and developing our new friendships.
