Hahahahaha. Fewl.
Get me some of them
it helped me... it lets u see like the shape of the face, if its round, etc... it let u see facial hiar that was cut out... it help me, i would make a guess, then use magnifier and completely change it
... but i still had to know the person to be able to get it, just like the 20 questions game... our approaches our different... u look for stuff and ask questons that make it possible to google the answer, I look for things and ask questions to figure it out from what I already know
I dont google much for 20 Q. I dont think ive googled ever.
However I had googles 5CT :)
Haven't had a chance to think much about it, but I'm wondering if there is a way to implement something like this...
Set a maximum amount of cards a person can have at once (# to be determined).
Instead of cutting them off at that number and rendering them done until the next contest, allow them the option of continuing to play, but for each new card they are awarded, one of their existing cards will be returned to the deck (thus becoming available for distribution to other players - or even themselves for that matter).
This essentially gives anyone who has reached the limit the option of being content with their hand or giving them the chance to try to improve their hand if they so choose.
This would extend the game a bit as cards are going back into the deck, but it also might make this game a bit more competitive for more players.
Certainly needs some fine-tuning, but I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this idea.
I'm thinking we can combine this idea with a few of the other ones that have been mentioned and make ourselves a much more exciting game.
that could work, it would add a bit of stragety as well... I have AAQ54 and say eejit has 44AAQ, and Ringo has K-J-10-9, do I really want to return the 4 or Q to the deck ???
Cool. Means i can dump by 2 and go for flooosh
Tasty ideas!
Looking for some quick feedback (won't leave this up too long) on potential changes for the next contest (tentative rules below)...
Our 5 Card Trivia Contest works like this...
1. We will begin this contest by drawing three random community cards (the flop) from a standard 52-card deck.
2. I will then post a trivia question, riddle, or other quiz variation.
3. The first person to respond with the correct answer will receive a random card from the remainder of the deck.
4. Once someone has responded with the correct answer, I will then ask a new question.
5. This process will continue until the remaining cards have been awarded.
6. After we have awarded a card for the correct answer to question 24, we will randomly draw a fourth community card (the turn).
6. The last remaining card will be used as the fifth community card (the river).
5. The person who can make the best poker hand without using the community cards (does not need to be a full 5-cards) will receive a $10 Amazon.com gift card!
6. At the start of each contest, $5 will be contributed to the high hand jackpot. To win the high hand jackpot, you must use two of your cards and three community cards. High hand to be determined.
Rules:
1. Each member may only guess once per question. However, you may ask for clarification as often as you'd like.
2. After you have won a card, you may not guess again until another card has been awarded to a different member.
3. I reserve the right to provide hints and/or replace a question if I feel it will help move the game along.
4. Each member will be limited to a maximum of five cards. However, you may continue to play and receive cards, but for each new card you receive, one of your cards will be added back to the deck at random.

What if all cards do not go out. As at this current rate. 4 players would get to 5 cards fast. Then obviously you have people who get a couple of cards. You need 9 players here for full card allotments for the last card to be drawn,
so the community cards only come into play for the high hand jackpot? ... and the rest of the game is basically the same... do u mean "best hand without using community cards, need 5 to qualify" ?
I vote for the high hand qualification using the community cards to be jacks full of 10's or better.
and u better specify that the fist card drawn after 24 is the turn and the second card is the player who wins that question
say I have 5 cards 2 pair and eejit only has 3 cards but has trips... eejit wins? thats how I understand these rules
Yes. Community cards would strictly be used for the high hand portion of the game only.
However, once you reach five cards, you will have to use a bit of strategy to determine if you want keep your current five cards to beat the competition or if you want to risk drawing new cards to go for the high hand and risk losing to the competition.
Correct. It's the same format we used for the last contest - that part isn't changing. The best poker hand wins that portion of the contest, but the hand doesn't necessarily have to have five cards (thought it virtually always will).
I'm trying to use everyone's ideas and suggestions to come up with a contest that still rewards increased participation, but also provides those who cannot be as active as they'd like to be with a chance to win a prize.
I think we accomplish this with the high hand portion, which only requires you to have 2-cards to have a shot at the prize.
I think we'll need to run a full contest to find the pitfalls with these revisions, but right now, I think this one has the perfect amount of luck and strategy to keep things interesting and to appeal to a wider audience.
I just want to make sure we aren't missing anything obvious that could cause problems before we fire this one up again with the changes.
if u limit everyone to 5 cards, its possible that the best hand wont be a full 5 card hand... I dont like that part of it, but I will stil play, but if I have AAKK2, I shouldnt lost to 222 or 567, that dont seem right... unless u just change it to best 3 card poker hand w a 5 card per member limit
If you had AAKK2, you'd still lose to 222 or 22249, it wouldn't make a difference.
It's the exact same system we used for the last round. Someone with 222 could have beat someone with AAKKQQJ9876432.
This is always going to be ranked on a 5 card poker hand (not 3-card poker where 567 is a straight or three of a suit is a flush).
oh ok... so pretty much the only way someone w 3 or 4 cards will win is if they have trips, which isnt likely but could happen...
Im just saying it was diff. last time cuz u didnt have a limit of 5 cards so, AAA wouldnt beat u, cuz u were very likely to have a straight or flsuh if u had like 10 cards...
thats where I was coming from...
now if u have 5 cards and have KKKQ9 and someone has AAA, u will have to take ur chances of returning a card to the deck, which u prob. would anyways to get a boat or quads for the Jackpot hand
I get it
If u can make the high hand before the river comes out, u win and dont have to draw the river? cuz ya, I get what eejit is saying, only 8 people played last game, u would need 10 to even get to the river w a 5 card limit imposed.
I wouldn't worry too much about not having enough people. I'm certain we'll have enough participants.
Maybe we should flip this around so the 2-card hand is used to compete against others for that portion of the contest and the 5-card hand is used for the high hand.
I think that makes more sense...
or u could just draw the river after question 50 and end the game
I think I am going to flip it around.
Yes, leave it as it is now.
1 - HHJ is for 2 cards plus board.
2 - I prefer the timeline for turn and river, but if you do 25 questions for turn, then the river as the last card, then that works.
3 - Mass PM people. Need 12 regular players.
4 - HHJ I like Jacks full or better.
5 - Launch it.
... if some1 is the mathematical winner of the best hand before the river come out, does the game end and the HHJ roll over to the next game?
We will continue on with the game until all cards are out.
I'd consider adding in this rule after the current contest is over though. Or at least consider adding a rule that would end the game once the HHJ is no longer attainable.
I'm sure we'll have another round of changes to make once we run though the current contest, so please keep the suggestions coming.
Eejit, I want to know that, while I have targeted you for verbal abuse before, I honestly wasn't doing it this time. I didn't mean to imply you didn't work for a living. But you say you log in every two hours during the day and I'm not anywhere near a computer for typically ten or twelve hours a day. That's all I was trying to say.
I know you're a post junkie. I don't want you not to play. Quite the opposite. And I agree, it has nothing to do with the money.
Name that tune was great but it was the backwards part that was genius. If that was you, muchos kudos.
We need you, Eejit. Having a common enemy bonds the rest of us into a tight-knit, almost family-like group. And I'm using enemy in the kindest, most loving way possible. So come here, man. Bring it in. This is your virtual hug.
Lol. I dont do hugs any more. its VRA or nothing baby!!!
Much love <3
HI,
I HAVE TO AGREE,I HAVE NO VIDEO, I HAVE NO CAMERA.NOW I COULD AND WOULD GET THIS STUFF,BUT
WHO IS GOING TO SHOW & TEACH ME WHAT TO DO WITH IT. AGAIN LOL. YOUR ALL GREAT!:smash:
Just had a thought.
Once a player is happy with their hand.... instead of them having nothing to do till the game is over, can they not keep answering, and if they wish to keep their hand, that can simple ask under their answer for you to draw a random card and remove it from the game?
This means obviously everyone has something to do for a while while this game completes.
That could help speed things up if we get bored. We'll keep it on the table and will put it up for consideration for the next round.
Lovely stuff
some other ideas for contests could be a poem or song writing contest.
You can have a theme week or Limerick week.
