what is your BIGGEST distraction when playing online holdem
of course my WIFE fellow married guys know what its like if your not married you will find out lol
Telephone is my biggest distraction. I hate the phone.:D
I can't believe this question didn't bring more responses. I had to bring it back:D
My wife.
Also, I just had a baby boy about a month ago and the baby nurse left on Saturday night.
More work for Daddy!
I love my son and the vast majority of the time, I enjoy taking care of him. It's just that it would be nice if I didn't need to drop what I was doing while I have 6 tournaments going on!
Hey maybe we could swap, you don't mind the phone and my wife is head labor/delivery nurse at our area hospital..........LOL:D
My daughter always wanting this or that and won't let me be for 5 minutes, or people always coming over unannounced
It's the wife and phone and kids and bad play and etc.....
It's apparent by this poll that we have all our priorities in line. It's everyone else who is mixed up.:D
If the wife didn't yell at me or nag at me while playing poker I might have alot more money.
my biggest things are either listening to music on the computer, the t.v. or my husband. He wants to hang over my shoulder sometimes and tell me how to play.
It would have to be the TV for me beacuse i am a tv junkie, almost as much as i am a poker junkie
this time of the year FOOTBALL may rank high as well, at least for me.
lmao Sue! watch out Romo sues got her sights on you!
Dirty sue:)
Thing is i have MSN on while i play, but i think that helps me in alot of ways.
Biggest distraction for me is boredom!!! If im on playing 1 game, ill need to be watching TV or a movie or chatting to someone or id get uch too bored and make more mistakes
my biggest distraction is my only daughter and she's the only one who can make me stop playing when she wants to use the computer and if im in a game and she wants to use it she starts to count from 1 - 10 and it distracts me more so i just give her the PC.
My freaking dog distracts me like hell, jumping up and down and playing with her ball and geezzzzzzz LOLOLOL
I think it is really important to watch what is going on at your table! You should treat every tournament you are in, regardless of the buy in, as you would play at at the WSOP.
lol hel no! $1 donkaments and satty rebuys are there to go all in with 5 6suited eveyr time!!!
hell, 3 2 off suit if youll get paid enough:)
lol Donkaments! You just cant play the same way at a 1 dollar buy in as you would in the WSOP, as other players dont respect the tournament as much.
When money loses it's value, as per say on the very low buy in games, people wont care, its just as if you were sitting with $100,000 chips and some guy pushes all in with 5,000 chips, you GOTTA call LOL
Low Buy-ins = The exact same thing as having LOADS of cash to spend
Its very tough Neverwin, very very very tough to do so, I just cant treat a $100 buy in just like a $1 buy in.
Strategy changes a LOT and better players will take advantage of bad players easily on the low buy ins but will also be forced more to risk more due to the lack of experience and play at those levels
Yeah it is supposed to be tough, it is!
BUT, if you play your best game, and you know when that is, regardless of what the buy in is, I think you can go far. I know when it is a cheap buy in it is easier to make some calls that you wouldn't if it were an expensive buy in, but it does work! Give each tournament 100%, be CONFIDENT, watch everything that is going on, build your bankroll, and never look back!
the telephone for sure........ if i don't answer at first and they keep calling back, and when i do answer while playing, they wont stop talking........ GRRRRRRRR
Sweetie, at these levels, once again, when you play your best game and you are holding AA say best hand you will get called by so many donks and why is that? cause it aint worth nothing at all to gamble, therefore your aces against 3 or 4 people will prolly be cracked as usual...
Low levels are GAMBLING levels
If you play well, save up money and play bigger buy ins instead of gambling at the $1 level, thats how I see it sorry if its not the way everyone else sees it, but I have played my best game on the $1 levels and on the $10 levels and I can tell you, regardless of how much UP or DOWN i may have ended up, I have cashed far much more many times on the $10 levels and up, it just becomes MORE poker and LESS gambling
Ok, well, good thing we all have different points of view or this would be a boring world lol
What about the damn phone, someone asking you stuff and you trying to decide wheter to shove all in or fold LMAO
friends are also distracting when playing and they come and wants to go out and makes you stop playing.
I think I could blame me donking off chips on anything with a living cell that can understand the English language or actions of distress. Ex. Puerto Rico - In the hotel room and had a little too much Rum, felt it was necessary to throw the iron across the room and put a hole in the wall of the room. Very genius.)
Yeah well I wish. Apparently people just like to come over ALL the time, I didnt' even answer the door yesterday. I fig there is a few reasons!
1)I am an amazing cook!
2)I am not the type of person that insists someone arrange a visit with me, they know they are welcome to stop by anytime to visit, or a lot of my friends show up like 3am needing a safe place to sleep.
3)My home is pretty warm and comfortable, and is a good place to kick back and relax.
All the complaining aside, I don't mind company, just sometimes it is too often!
I am in the same situation ferrengi. It can get frustrating but playing a little less poker is definitely worth it. I just make sure I don't play any big buy-in tournaments anymore. I can deal with being pulled away from freerolls to take care of the baby...he's too damn cute for me to get mad anyway............cue the awwwwwww from other members.
Why do the virus scan reminders or security features always notify my when logging into these poker rooms?
