Noble Poker
I've been playing a couple of days on that free $10 they give you for signing up and I've noticed what must be a glitch in their software.
I wasn't in this hand:
Flop came K 10 J 10 J
One guy had pocket Kings.
One guy had AJ
They split the pot...
Both hands had a "full house"
I was in a hand where a straight came on the board.
Guy bet, another guy folded, I called.
I won with the board straight because I had high card Ace (ace didnt play in the straight 3,4,5,6,7).
This isn't the first day I've noticed this. I am surprised they haven't gotten many complaints.
-
Now that you mention it, I remember winning a straight with a high kicker outside of the 5-card hand. I was very confused! I don't play there anymore...
-
right, you can get free $$$ for this. What you need to do is request the hand history for the last few games whenever those were, and then email noble with them, explain what happened and you can get all kinds of freebies for pointing out glitches, seriously 8)
-
Very strange to hear. Noble has been around for a while now and during my time playing there I had never seen problems like that. If you continue to play with the free chips you should take the time to send in the hand #'s if any errors occur again. They run a pretty good operation and I am sure they would fix things right away. It would also be a nice gesture to the other players to help prevent it from happening again.
-
Where do I request hand history?
-
When you are at a table at the bottom of your screen you can click "history." Or if you noticed it while you're playing, up in the left hand corner it will show you the hand number.
-
Oh so it's too late now right? I have to wait for it to happen again?
-
Might be now. I am not sure how their history works or how far back you can go...
-
yea but i believe european poker rules are different than what we are used to so u might wanna check that out first...........
-
What? Different poker rules for the brits? Neverheard of such a thing. Seems to me that a straight on the board is pretty much a split pot if 2 are in and you dont hold a higher card for the straight . Maybe I am wrong but I have never heard of different rules. I would definalty be interested to know if there are though?????

DD unless that was a joke I am shocked! You know poker as well as the rest of us...

Hi all...
many of those sites work on an algorithim to produce random cards... and sometimes takes many years of testing to refine the generator... this along the way can create many anomolies... and problems... hence the updates that we generally get when we log in some days...! Yes these glitches can be a problem especially if you are in a high stakes game... but I also find that there are other problems associated with this type of software... eg.
Say Player 1 has 35 Diamonds....
Player 2 has AK OS...
Player 1 bets say 500 on a blind of 200
Player 2 calls....
guarenteed flop will be either 2 diamonds or 2 to the open ended straight for player 1... both times favouring player 1...
Player 1 goes all in for 3000
player 2 calls...
the turn will favour Player 2 and the the river will come out and giving player 1 the straight to win the pot... WHY...???
I will tell you... Player 1 made a raise which was 2.5 to 3x the blind... then made a bet which was 3x or more than the original opening bet... I have noticed this countless times on many sites and even used this myself to win pots... this is a very bad glitch in that it favours the smaller hand 75% of the time...and 75% of the time if you play in tournaments then if you go all in on a player who has less than you.. you will win.. BUT if the player has more than you and he doubles or more your all in.. he will win... 75% of the time...
I had this situation today and many other times as well...
me...25 spades (also on big blind)
player 2 Jspade 6heart
player 3 KA spades
flop was 2h5c3s
I went all in for 5200
player 2 went all in for 11000
player 3 went called for 11000
turn was a 6s
river was a jc
player 2 wins pot...!!! with 2 pair...
so guys any comments... In my opinion I find that the way the cards are generated is flawed... but the only "close to life like" random number generator we have for this type of game...
-
OK, firstly, they update the software and the site interface, it even shows at the bottom what it is updating.
Secondly, that 2 5 spades hand. 2 points. Why the hell did you call a raise from AK with 2 5. Yes your in the BB but 2 5 suited isnt a good hand. And that outcome is possible. It can go runner runner. Hell, he could get trip jacks in the end.
Bad beats happen. The site does not favour certain players. Just now on jetset, i had AJ, someone had KJ, i had her covered in chips, so according to you i should win. The flop came K J 7. turn was another K. So i was f***ed eithe rway. I lost half my stack and ent out the next hand with AJ vs 1010.
Random number generators do work. Some to start with were flawed, but they are checked monthly or yearly by a big company, who go in depth, and look into over a million hands of more. If they were fixed then wed know. Thats why some sites close in the end, they get busted, but noone over finds out.
EVERYONE will continue to get beat on the river, lose with the best hand, make stupid bluffs and hit the miracle card for their 2 outer. Look at the final table of the WSOP when Moneymaker won it.
Sometimes computers get the hands wrong, and award the win to someone else that didnt, i have seen this twice, both on a crappy site that was new. never seen it yet on a big site, but alwasy egt the Hand History number if it does.

I am not sure any of us here are qualified to give a factual statement regarding this, however it is always nice to see others opinions.
I refuse to believe that online poker is 100% perfect, however I have enough trust in it to continue to play it pretty much every day. I have seen examples of what Rogue mentioned time and time again, and to some extent it may be true. However, I feel as though I have adapted my game for an "online" strategy based on my experiences with online poker. I continue to change the way I play based on what I have seen work most often with the online systems. Regardless, it is the easiest way to play a game of poker as opposed to going to the casino or calling up friends so I don't plan to quit anytime soon!

Guys Guys Guys.... hang on a minute....
1. No where in my post do I even suggest "rigged or cheating"... NO NO NO NO... lets clear that up...
2. Thankyou NDN for understanding what I am saying...
3. I will never stop playing online poker ever...
4. I know it is checked by the relevant authorities and they keep a watchful eye on the Poker Sites and Casinos...
5. What I was saying was what I have experienced and seen... and I use to my advantage...
6. As soon as I made my bet and the other player doubled my bet, I knew I had a 25% chance of winning the hand...so eejit please read it carefully to see what went down... I could have pulled a full house from it... but read what happened to understand... watch carefully when you play and try it yourself... like I said it happens about 75% of the time in my calculations.. and its usually associated with a run
7. It doesn't matter if you are the chip leader or short stacked... I find that you also get a run going and then nothing for a few hands... Trust me... I do not play every hand and most likely I play about 1 in every 8 or 9... and they are usually to see the flop.. if I hit my cards I will continue... If I don't hit my best card I will fold... It also depends on the table and the way it is running... some days I hit Flushes like they are going out of fashion and are cheap frill buys... other days I am hitting nothing but straights... etc etc...
I know you are thinking that it is just the luck of the draw... you could be right... then again... there may just be a pattern there which you come across for that sitting... Sometimes I find that at one table I am scoring trips all the time and then as soon as I move... I am lucky to hit a pair...
So guys... please take this with a grain of salt and take it for what it is worth... MY EXPERIENCE with online poker.... doesn't mean that everyone will have the same experience... JUST REMEMBER... I DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT RIGGING OR CHEATING... and I am sorry if you feel that this is what you thought I meant eejit...

guess i read some of it wrong, but if your saying this isnt coincidence, then it has to be rigged, all poker sites cannot have the same anomoly is their software :?
