How come so many people on some of these gamling forums have pictures of half naked women in their posts?
Do they like looking at them or are these female posters and we are supposed to believe this is what they look like irl>?
Most of them are not even realistic looking... so I am wondering what the point is?

I don't plan on doing that, but it does raise a question for me.
As a male, I wouldn't prefer to see half naked guys at the bottom of peoples posts, but half naked women don't really bother me.
Do females feel the same (wouldn't mind half naked guys but don't prefer to see half naked women)?
I think it's a common belief in our culture that women don't really care either way but most males would feel the same way I do...

Its all stereotypical. The views of men and women differ very much from the sociological aspect of this. While men see the viewing of another "naked male" as sick/***/pointless, women can actually look at another naked women and feel unthreatened, she can actually comment on the other female from a totally unbiased view. If two men were commenting on each other they would feel threatened as they are the "dominant" gender. This dates back to the cave age, and men still will not compl;iment another man on his body if theirs is worse, its all about pride, men have it and want to keep it, women have a communal pride and dont give a s**t.
if that doesnt make sense im sorry, basically it means women are more easy going.
As a woman, here are my 2 cents...
There are times when a woman feels inferior when looking at other women, but we don't feel homophobic about it. I'm not a fan of woman = sexual object, but many women take that and run with it.
I am bothered more by the fact those signatures take up so much room, I have to scroll past them!

I agree. I think the most common answer would be that they are just there to make the site appear more friendly?
Kinda ties in with my approach to this site: I designed it to be clean, easy to navigate, and easy to use. Hence the reason you don't see any banners all over the place or half naked people in my signature.

I find sites with a lot of posts friendlier than one with so many images I get spammed by them!

HERES MY 2 CENTS AS A WOMAN AND SOMEONE WHO FREQUENTS FORUMS ....I THINK THE BIG PICTURES ARE A WASTE THAY TAKE UP TO MUCH SPACE AND GOD KNOWS THOSE CHICKS DONT LOOK LIKE THAT. ON ANOTHER SITE IT SEEMS THATS ALL THEY USE AND ITS SUCH A PAIN TRYING TO NAVIGATE THRU THE SECTIONS WHERE FOLKS POST CAUSE ITS ALL THOSE STUPID PICS.....I THINK IF IT WOULD BE BEST FOR US HERE IN THE LAND OF NDN IF WE OPPOSED THE USE OF THE SILLY PICS..
