My thoughts:
I'm in a tough spot, in between 2 opponents with a less than stellar flop. I like this better than an ace high flop but that's about it.
With this in mind, I check the flop planning to fold to a bet (it's early and I don't know anything about these opponents so I tend to be more conservative).
After the check behind on the flop, I figure that my hand is probably best here. The call on the flop could mean a pair of jacks, a flush draw, str8 draw.
The river looks like it is pretty good but there are a couple of str8s he could've made. So I figure that rather than pot more money in, I'll keep the pot smaller and check.
Now, I'm unsure what to do with this almost pot bet after he's been checking and calling the whole time.
