This thread is in relation to something posted in a different thread 2 days ago by Navuta about freeerolls. I quote.

Time. Thats the main issue. Everyone, and i mean EVERYONE, starts playing poker thinking they are awesome. Just look at some of the responses in the how good are you post. Its shocking. I can guarantee 95% on here thinkt hey are better than they are, including me probably.
Now, time. Poker takes hardly any time at all to learn. While doing this, you pick up some tricks, make some good wins, win some hands with utter garbage and think you played it well and are good at the game.
In truth your not. I spent 4 months playing for fake money on Party Poker. In that time i went from 1k chips to about 4million. I thought i was doing well. In the end i was winning because i could outstack everyone at the table.
When i started depositing it was a real shock. I would lose, and lose alot. It took me a month to find what i lost less in. Sit and Gos. I was losing slower. Then i joined some forums and played with some longer terms players. Noticed they played less hands, so i played less hands. And so on and so on untill i was winning.
Now, to navutas comments.
He said he had deposited $200. He then assumed he was losing because he was getting unlucky.
This thread is dedicated now to people stopping thinking they are better than they are, and losing money because they are just unlucky. This isnt true. OVer a given size good players will win. If you throw a dice 100 times, and good players are numbers 3,4,5, and 6, those numbers will come up more often than 1 and 2 do. Occasionally, but not often they wont. Variance ftw.
Depositing and losing money at first is a ritual. Its a rite of passage. In order to win you must train. Noone takes up running and can run 9.69 second 100m sprints. It takes years. Natural talent begins your journey, but you need to learn things along the way.
Which is my entire point. What i post is currently in order to make people read other posts they otherwise wouldnt.
