AKs vs 77

Okay so here is the scenario.

It is very early in a single table Sit'n'Go. No one has been knocked out, blinds are still on first level.

I have AKs clubs on the cut off. Player A raises 3X blind from middle. Player B calls him. I re-raise 9X B. Player A calls, Player B folds.

The flop comes Q74 with two clubs. I have a nut flush draw and two overcards. He bets half the pot. I push all in. He calls. I catch no cards and get knocked out in 1st spot.

Did I play it right?

My game has changed phenomenally over the last 3 to 6 months. I play more aggressive and am getting better results, however, the 'old' me would have been more conservative in that hand and just called the bet and hoped to catch. If I didn't catch I'd be somewhat short stacked but I would survive. I am getting greater variability now that I am playing more aggressive.

Any feedback or opinion would be great.

yeah that was the right move...u just didnt hit...that happens to everyone...i would have done the same thing...just keep playing and maybe u will have the same opportunity and win the next one...dont let losing keep u down just keep going that is what i do...well i hope this helps u

First of all, you should save your hand history and post them. So much better than describing the situation as you did. Things such as stack size and level in tournament are important.

Second of all, when 9 handed in a single table sng, tight play is right. I'd definitely consider flat calling the pre flop raise, and play the flop straightforwardly, rather than 3-betting.

I think the jam on the flop is ok, but since most of his range are queens, you won't get folds very often. Jamming lets you see 2 cards, instead of just one if you peel.

I think you should of called preflop and played the flop. I think I would check/fold any flop that doesn't connect with me. You don't have a read on what he does and doesn't raise with so that makes it all the harder to play.
