Nothing. Tips here = non taxable. ITs a gift.
Ad my biggest tip is on a £1,802 round of drinks and food ($3,000). He said round it up to £2,000 ($3,400). I did.
And i split it with the other 2 bar people who didnt serve him much, as im nice
what a nice guy!! but 400 on a 3k tab... 13% tip... guys were cheapskates you deserve better than that eeej. :-)
Here, tips arent the same as there.
You guys buy a beer for $4, and give them $5 each time.
Here - they buy a beer for $4, and give us $4, or occasionally $4.50. Not often
I took £5,600 the other day in sales ($9k). In tips i made £30 ($50)
Big tips are always great, you always remember the person who gave it to you. It would be nice to meet Johnny at a restaurant, server or not.....
lol... I pay 3.50$ for a beer and give them 4$ each time... If I dont have any change on me.
man the UK... crazy things go on across the pond :-p. So thats actually pretty good relative to those standards, so i rescind my previous statement. I bartended for awhile, and all my old jobs, ya know my regular job type jobs,(resivoir dogs???) have all been in the restaurant industry, so im a tipper and then some. LIke the end of the night ill get a glass of water, and give the server the rest of the single or whatever i have for the night. In the states, seriously, some people, particular single moms and stuff, live off of those tips, i like to do my part. speaking of depp, i definately watched fear and loathin in las vegas, and remembered how good of a f in movie it was. I think u gotta be a certain kind of person to enjoy it, but if u are you freggin love it. Depp is the man.
Johnny was on Letterman last night and it was extremely weird to say the least.
By the way, I absolutely hate Letterman, but I HATE Conan even more.
I miss Leno and I no longer watch any of the late shows (just happened to be flipping through and watched a little of the interview - Megan Fox was on after so it was a bonus).
On a tipping note, I've been telling eejit101 to move to the U.S. forever (Minnesota in particular).
Last I checked, I believe our state was known for having the best tippers.
You can make a pretty sick living off of tips around here.
most definately. im in a average sized town with a lot mree restaurants than average im sure, but itd be easy to see a server or bartender take home a couple hundred cash on average in a night. Thats not even counting particularly busy days, holidays banquets etc. just 200 alone for 8 hours of work is over 20/hr and thats avg, so yea, u can definately make a living off tips prty much anywhere in the states. should definately consider it eej, if u plan to continue serving an whatnot. when i tended in an avg restaurant in my town, on fridays or saturdays, would literally take home 250 300, plus 6.50 hr wage... downside is when im getting outta work the parties are just dying down and all the nachos have been snatched up :-p. so its a ying yang kinda deal, like most things in the world... like all things :-)
eejit if i start a bar you can run it for me here in the usa....i am going to start a business soon and one idea is a bar!!!
Cool, i have qualifications and experience at that, ad im cheap
