so i moved up in limits this wknd, and i noticed one thing...EVERYONE SLOW PLAYS THE CRAP out of their trips or better...i took two peoples money when they smooth called me with trips and i rivered a flush, but i had outs to the straight as well....i also lost 25 beans to someone slowplaying bottom set, and i rivered 3 of a kind aces...just something to watch out for i guess, can't play as aggressive if i'm gonna move up...
went from .05/.10 to .10/.25(and some .25/.50)
Assuming your bankrolled properly and being sensible, which im sure you are from your posts....
Well done. Just dont get tempted to move up further if you have a good short burst of wins.
And agression works better when people slow play i find. They will still call you down in marginal spots.
i cashed out from carbon after i used my winning from this site, i won a 300$ tourney and have been using my winnings as backup, but havent needed it, i have about 75 in my acct and i wanted to test my skills, so far im a little above even...so its just a matter of time...i feel comfortable when i sit down and making my normal plays, but it def takes away from the hand value if you have a moderate-decent hand but you put your opponent on a better made hand, u gotta fold it...thats why i try to do pot control alot of time unless i have the nut made hand then i get that pot built up...
One of my biggest mistakes in my early days of poker was moving up the stakes to quickly. Just make sure your comfotablw where you at, and if your not having a stress free good time then your probably playing to high. I play alot better poker when im not stressing over every lost pot or donked out hand, so im sure other people would too!
I moved up in limits and i cant play lower limits now.....its funny the plays i make in higher limits dont work in lower limits. I just play better when other poeple risk money that they cant afford to lose.....i can put more pressure on the poeple that move up in limits when they dont have the bankroll for it....i tend to play lower limit cash tables but higher buy in sit-n-go's.....and whatever tourney i am up for..
