KQ and AJ...behind the numbers

KQ and AJ, the cream of the crap...niether are premium hands by any means, but they aren't JUST two face cards...the reason i say this is because they are both only dominated by 5 and 6 other hands respectively...all the other "two-face card" hands are dominted by 7-10 other hands...so tread cautiously

KQ is dominated by AK, AQ, AA, KK, and QQ

AJ is dominated by AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK, and AQ

I usually try to raise with these hands if i'm going to play them, if i'm first to enter the pot i will raise it up, but if there is more than one caller in front of me, i usually just limp and see a flop...if there is a pre-flop raise in front of me, and another call i sometimes let this hand go depending on my opponents, alot of times this is where you get dominated with these hands. Obviously if theres a raise and a re-raise, this is an easy fold with out a doubt. If one opponent infront of me raises, and this person is a fairly loose player, i may reraise him, i may call. It all depends on how many people behind me are yet to act...

feel free to add any insight or how you play these hands differently...

i dont think ive ever reraised with KQ/AJ unless im shotstacked and want it all in preflop so i can see how far behind i am in advance:) Or im bluffing somsone whose raised out using a squeeze play.

I fold KQ and AJ in early position unless the blinds are big. Ill limp AJ suited maybe UTG, thats about it.

i agree that it's most likely proper to fold these hands under the gun, especially at a table with solid players...however, mid position, if im feeling comfortable at the table, i want to raise it because i want to know who potentially has a strong hand at the table, if they call im thinking that potentially im beat with an AQ or even an AK, if they raise i can let it go and lose the minimum preflop without getting trapped postflop...

I really get upset when I run into people online playing those hands all in. There is so many tilt players that they play almost anything anyway and usually get lucky a mojority of the time.

i had q10 utg suited hearts guy after me calls

every one folds bb sb sit outs so me and him flop comes qq7 i check her pot raise i push he calls he shows 88 i show q10 rainbow flop turn 5 river 8 that hurt and some one else said the folded a 8 so it really was a one outer grrrrrr
