Running Good?Bad
Does everyone believe that there is such a thing as running good or running bad in poker???....or is it just a mind thing???
I mean i believe there is such a thing as hitting a run of cards and i have scene ppl play this way where they play ATC (Any Two Cards) and seem to hit everything
I have also scene ppl just run bad where they can't buy a hand and bust outa every tourny they play with the best hands
So is it true or is it in your head???

I think there's some truth to both sides of the coin, so to speak. You could be a very good poker player, and just get really unlucky for two or three hands in a row, and not really have any choice in the matter. Once this happens, however, if you let the frustration of being unlucky get to you, which is really easy to do, then you will start to run badly because you're frustrated and thus make more poor decisions, resulting in the loss of hands that you normally have much more control over and are able to often win.

I can prove this theory in 4 sentences!!
Tonoght ive watched someone who will remain unnamed - They played LOADS too many hands (in my opinion) and in some tourneys then busted early, or made some chips then dwindled fast. In others then amassed a huge stack playing medium/low hands, and ran well.
So yeah, thats short term, but LONg term i can also prove. Ive been on a HORRIBLE streak recently. Playing ok mostly, but also some shocking plays, but ive won nothing, till tonight!

cards are streaky, hence why i raise when i want to, and i play a hand when i want to, even if its garbage, sometimes i like to see a flop....SOMETIMES
if i take a sick beat now, i almost always stand up and walk away...bc i know i'll dump my chips if things dont go my way...

If you keep putting yourself in a situation that you opponents has 15% to win the hand and you have 85% to win the hand you are playing excellent poker. the cards are going to do want they want. but if someone needs to hit a card to win you playing good poker and eventually the cards will fall in your favor and you will take a tourney down.
IF you cant buy a hand, take a break or watch poker or read about poker. or move down in limits and build you bankroll back up.
