This information has been difficult to find because most available statistics are not comprehensive and often have differing time ranges, data sets, geographic coverage, definitions, and interests to serve. For example, the US Department of Defense (DoD) has not released numerical values for the number of Iraqi civilian deaths although they have plotted deaths along a line graph giving ballpark mortality estimations.
