5.50 6 per sng on Full tilt

ok so backround on this sit n go,
i saw 2 pocket pairs, the entire time we had more than 3 people...and they were back to back JJ, and i 3 bet both and they all fold...ok no biggie, i played very tight poker, because my style wasnt effective at this table...4 of the 6 people were loose aggressive, aka, shoving all their chips preflop for 120 in blinds and i had one steal of blinds other than the 2 JJ's, because i'd always have atleast one caller on my raises, didn't hit anything or overs on my PP, then someone would get their chips ion the middle...retarded. so i play good poker, i get small stacked and i shove from the button, about 8 times the BB, w/ A6 suited...snap call by small blind, he flips over 66...im thinking to myself at this point, please flop and ace, it didnt, but the turn was an ace...so i got lucky, from there on out, i wasnt even getting ****ty raising hands, hands like 29 offsuit, i saw 52 offsuit out of position a counted 8 times from the time we were 4 handed till i busted. so i take someone out with TT, he had KJ suited and the board came all low...woooh...im sitting pretty in 2nd place, when the big stack, who has everyone 3-1 in chips, starts shoving on me and this other guy every hand!...im thinkin ok, any ace im calling, any two face cards def calling, about 5 hands into his shove-fest, i get AK in the SB, he shoves i snap shove, and he flips over J2 offsuit, flop 56J turn A...river J....in the past week, ive watched my acct go from 110 down to 55 from taking bad beats while playing good solid poker, i have been sick of playing on fulltilt for about a year now, because the limits that i play, people play to get lucky instead of solid poker, anyone wanna transfer carbon poker money for fulltilt?

Umm thoughts (you wont like them)

1 - 6max SnG's are in no way about getting dealt good hands, its all about agression, playing the players against you, and very variant. To do well at 6man's you need to open you range right up, its fine playing tight for a bit, but once the blinds are over 25/50 your kind of in 15 x BB or less territory.

2 - You dont need a hand to steal the blinds. Thats the reason its called.... stealing. Obviously it cant be 72, leave yourself some outs, so 56 suited is good, 97suited, 98 ff suit, that kind of hand.


3 - If youve been playing for a year and are not winning anyting, just breaking even, then maybe your not suited for the games your playing. Just a thought.

but 6mans are my forte, and i know NLH like the back of my hand, i have been playing poker for 6 years and 4 online...and its pr hard to steal the blinds with 92 offsuit even 52 offsuit...occasionally if im running good, and i have a chip stack i will raise with 52 suited, but any raise at this point in the tourney was over 1/3 of my stack, and im not shoving with weak hands like that

The other thing to remember is that it's recommended that you not put more than 2% of your bankroll into one sit and go. Even the top pros have had runs of not cashing for 20 times in a row, and even when you had over 100 you could not support that. Go back to 2 or 1 dollar sit and goes and try and build back up, and remember not to put more than 2% of your roll on the line in a sit and go. Bad beats happen, or at least that's what I try and tell myself when I want to cuss out the poker site, the person who put the beat on me, and everyone else.

First a thought on bankroll management for you. Why are you playing a SNG where you can only afford to play 22 if you don't cash? Why not play a lower limit and allow your roll to grow with a number of quality cashes? Having joined the Full Tilt Academy I've learned that you shouldn't play more than 2% of your roll in a SNG. Part of that is to account for the extreme variance in the game and the other is to allow your bankroll to handle the swings. On to the bad beat.

First off, he could of turned over AA, KK, QQ or any other hand that can hurt you. You only have two high cards. If you "snap shoved" with a pocket pair and lost that is a bit different. I understand it's short handed, but risking your tournament life on a draw when you seem to have a stack make no sense to me at all. If you had a "made" hand when you shoved and lost, that is closer to a bad beat, but you left it all up to chance. Do you know what your odds were for winning the hand? Here they are: AKo 68% J2o 32%. 32% of the time he is going to beat you by the river. In my opinion the better play would of been fold. There are times that the big stack quits pushing when people don't call. On top of that, you could of had the other player call and go out allowing you to cash.

It's solid that you are able to adapt your game accordingly. Props on that. But like what has been mentioned, adapt to your stakes as well. I know a lot of people who do the same game all day long, but the trick is finding it on whichever site that you're comfortable with. Also, if you look at tournament poker, solid players sometimes don't cash for 20 - 40 games sometimes. It's part of the bankroll management. But just try and figure out what you do well in and get back on the grind playa ~!

one sec, you know that to "Steal" blinds you dont show your hand right??
